I've read a few posts on here about installing an aftermarket amp and sub in the '07 TL Type S. It appears that in order to do this, you must disconnect the automatic noise cancellation system. I just want to verify this.

If this is the case, which is the best (easiest?) method of disconnecting this...disconnect each of the mic's, disconnect at a "main anc terminal", fuse box, etc.?

I did this... and disconnected the microphones.

It's VERY easy to snap the covers off, takes about 15 seconds each. Simply unplugs, completely reversible.

you said you unplugged the mic? so does that mean that if you do this you cannot use voice commands anymore?

 

Somebody else can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the mics are different for ANC and voice commands/bluetooth.

 

Yep... different mics.

The sounds cancellation mics are the SMALL holes in the front, and the only set in the rear

 

YOU COULD DISCONNECTED A LITTLE SILVER BOX BEHIND CLIMATE DISPLAY,UNDER THE CENTER CHANNEL SPEAKER.THAT YOUR MAIN MODULE BOX FOR THE NOISE CANCELLATION.
