I've just got a 06 TL and my dealer told me it's a 6 disc dvd player and it is able to play mp3 files

i've burned a CD with mp3 files in it but when i put it into the dvd player in the game it says FORMAT and the discs come right out i wonder if the TL's sysm can play MP3 files in a CD or did the dealler lied to me?

The dealer was mistaken, the player will NOT play MP3s.

 

You need to learn not to trust what dealers tell you and do your own research.

No, the TL audio system can NOT play MP3 files.

 

The type of media the TL supports is also mentioned in the owners manual. You should take the time to read it.

 

Although the manual says the TL supports DVD+R, most have found that DVD-R is more compatible. Its good to browse/search the forum. You will pick up a lot of info!

After many failed attempts, I did make a DVD+R Double Layer disc (non-mp3) that the car will play. It's very unpredictible. But I agree, if you are going to make your own DVDs for the car, go with DVD-R.

 

OK - I was also told I could play mp3's. Acura definitely needs to upgrade their CD/DVD audio player.

So can anyone tell me how to convert mp3's into something the Acura TL will play? I only have a CD burner.

Please be detailed in 'splaining as I am non-technical.

Most CD burning programs will take your MP3's and convert them to Audio CD for you. For instance, I can go into Nero, create a new "audio CD" and drag my mp3's or WMA's into the program, and burn onto a CD-R. This will play in any std CD player. It's pretty simple.

 

Thanks for the help. I used the CD Burning software my computer came with and made an audio CD using mp3's and now I have music ~ HIP HIP HOORAY!!!!
