Great job! ... I started to do all those wires for the hvac display but that was towards the end of my install and wanted my car back together, so I decided against it.

Guess you don't use the CD player much?

Very nice worklog pics.. I definitely wouldn't put the PC in it's current location but otherwise it's looks like a good install.

WOW. I feel so dumb. Amazing job. Are you an electrical engineer? How long did it take you to do all the research and fab everything up?

WOW.. NICE install!! ANd you even got the Sub display to work! Does the Sub Diplay show whats on the radio? All I see in the pics is the a/c stuff.

This is something I wish I could do.. I need to take a class to learn stuff like this lol

Oh ok. Can you somehow get the hidden display to display your radio info on the upper subdisplay (the one in the a/c vents)? This is how a navi TL displays the radio info. The reason why I ask is because you were able to get your A/C info to show on the Upper sub display.

So how do you see what radio station you are on? I guess you dont really listen to radio anymore?

My Radio info shows where your a/c info shows. It seems like you have the knowledge to be able to display the radio info on the same screen as the a/c info. I know other members have tried, but couldnt get the radio info to show up there. I was thinking you would be able to!

He isn't using the Navi subscreen to display the a/c info. Instead he extended the wires from the stock non-navi display and replace the clock with the a/c display. Its pretty cool and I would have loved to do something similar, but I like having my clock and radio display to much.

Here is one of ncutl's pictures to clarify a little.

yes! you are right!
I removed clock because I always have clock on my PC and hide radio subdisplay because I never listen radio before and dont need this.. You always can plug radio tuner into carpc and listen radio from PC

Wow bro, I'm super impressed. I think I'm technically capable of doing a carputer on my 04 tl, to the extent that you did, but I couldn't last mentally... My damn Push Button Start and alarm transponder install just above drove me crazy by the 3rd day (come to find out on wire color on the diagram was WRONG.) Congrats bro, thats a badass setup you got going on there. I'm also not sure I would WANT to mount the pc in the glovebox, but for practicality sake, its probably a good idea.

Do you have diagrams to re-wire hvac display, and what gauge wire was used?

He just extended the wiring one for one. I think the existing wiring is 22ga.

I've been looking around for the parts of a similar install. Ive got an 06 TL non navi. I've found that install.com has just about everything i need to tap into the factory wiring. I am just coming up short on finding the PC itself and a direct fit for the LCD. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I am in the same boat with you on finding the PC also USMC331.

This is what I have found so far...
http://www.xenarc.com/product/mp-sc10.html

I am trying to find the Navi HVAC Display too and not having so much luck.

Any recommendations or advice anyone?
