YR RSX vs. BMW E39 M5

vs. BMW E39 M5
Went out last night with a buddy of mine because I haven't driven the car in about a week. E85 really sucks for start ups in colder weather so I bought another car that I'm currently using for winter and as the new daily.

Anyways, I wanted to drive the RSX and it was actually a nice night out, 45-50*....so I picked up my buddy and headed to dunkin donuts where everyone meets up on Thursday Nights. It so happened that a bunch of guys with BMWs were meeting up. To make a long story short, I wasn't planning on running because I have a bunch of suspension parts sitting in my hatch waiting to go in over the weekend and around a half tank of gas which isn't really optimal but we saw and opportunity for a good run with a 400hp BMW M5 E39. BobRoss talked to the owner and he was down for some pulls, so it was on.

My RSX, driver only, little under half tank of gas....mods in the video and my sig. E39 BMW M5, driver only...enjoy

Nice kill!

Now put your flame suit on, 'cause you know the BMW fanbois will be coming out of the woodwork to say that it was really a 525i with a 12 hp Briggs & Stratton lawnmower engine.

I am surprised by that outcome. I have seen those E39 M5's run 13.1@109 stock. Maybe she was tired? I know your RSX is flippin fast but you aren't even running those times......or are you? Good kills!!

anything can happen on the streets. a win is a win, one may argue the m5 is "supposed" to be faster, but it sure wasnt faster in this video. would another m5 be faster? with a different driver maybe? perhaps, perhaps not. anything can happen.

If money is involved for a race, who receives the winnings? the car that won? or the car that's supposed to win on paper?

your RSX is the devil, absolute killer, combined with your driver mod and like dead spot on shifts, your car is not joke.

I'd really love to see you run my 335i, wow.

thanks guys, yeah my buddy Bren @ Bren Tuning says that he's seen variation in those year M5's by 30-40whp...so one could put down 310whp bone stock and another 340whp bone stock depending on how well maintained it was. If I were to guess this M5 is in the low portion of the 300whp range, 320whp at the most would be my guess. It is quite a bit heavier.
