Well I soon need to choose which aspec kit front I prefer.

I like the Type-s front kit, but how much modification is required to fit my base 06 bumper?
I will be purchasing Fog lights and doing that mod along with the kit at the same time.

I've tried searching for what exact modification is required but have failed to find the right post.

I'll be going base rear lip, only the front that matters.
Car is WDP btw, i think the type-s looks sick with the color.

 

because bondo, filler, and other BODY work is needed to fill in the gaps, you will NEVER get a straight answer on how much modification is required.

if you look at the type-s lip and an 06 bumper.....THEY DO NOT MATCH UP AT ALL.
some ones going to have to cut, mold, fill, etc.

Your best bet is to take the front type-s aspec to a shop, so that they can perform the surgery.

What about the base 07-08 aspec front? I kinda like that too, or should I just stick with base?

 

I would stick with the base, i think the base 06 aspec looks much better than the 07-08 base aspec lip. Just my . The 07-08 will also require some modification because of the fog lights in the 07-08 base model.

 

^correct. you'll run into the same issue. the 07 base aspec kit just wasnt made to fit the contours of the 06. and vice versa.

modifications to ensue.


SO, the easiest and least painfullest way to get the aspec kit, would be to get one designed for your specific year.

 

yah guess the base 04-06 it is.
Just have to modify it a bit for the fog lights

 

I would go 04-06 base front and sides, then Type-S rear lip with custom exhaust tips

 

I agree 100% The 04-06 TL A-Spec front lip is the BEST EVER

I have an 07 TL Type-S and am going to buy the 07 Base front lip.
I had an 07 Type-S with the Type-S front lip and DID NOT LIKE IT
Looks like it got stung by 10,000 bees Bulge City
