For you guys with non-stock grills

I noticed that many of you have either chromed or color matched your grill. For the ones that have the color matched ones, was it purchased or a DIY?

I want either a NBP one or a matte black one.

no one sells grilles for a tl. you just take it off and paint it. unless you have exp with painting i'd have a shop do it.

^ Well, if you want it NBP take it to a shop. If you go flat or 'matte' you should be able to handle that yourself.

Could someone with a painted NBP grill post some picture of the grill and car? All the pictures in the other thread are too zoomed in.

This one (https://acurazine.com/forums/showpos...&postcount=382) looks like its almost completely NBP... but not quite.

Looking for dragonlord, in particular

^ Just look at darksom1s grille. He painted all the side pieces, the part on the hood, the two tone areas of the aspec body kit NBP. IMO, that is what looks best. I like him don't like the two-toned body pieces.

Agreed on the two tone comment.

However, I don't want a floating Acura logo. darksom1 removed that crossbar and mounted the logo piece to a grill. I'm looking for more of a stock look.

This one works for me https://acurazine.com/forums/showpos...5&postcount=34

I went from this;

To this;

Was really easy, all I recommend doing is putting on a good coat of primer, 2 light coats of spray paint, 1 heavy coat after it's done drying, and a nice clear coal to add protection and a nice seal.

Also, cover your hood to the *BEST* of your ability, you don't want spray paint on your hood.

^ That looks amazing. I sorta like the before picture.

I'm gonna take it to a shop... remove the grill and paint it that way. Got a buddy that does this kind of stuff anyway.

Thanks for the pictures!

I know he has the floating A, that wasn't why I wrote that. I said look at his because he had all the pieces officially sprayed NBP. Just so you could look and see what it's like...

Oh I see. Looks sharp. Still, I can't decide now if I want the entire grill NBP or just the middle cross bar (first picture is post #11). Its hard to tell when the picture is so zoomed in. Plus, I can't just remove the mod if I don't like it or go back to stock.

Once I wash my car, I'll take a picture at that same location.

^ Can you take more picture from different angles of your entire car (not just the grill)? I feel like leaving SOME metal on the grill allows it to maintain some of its luxury-ness whereas a complete blacked out grill is more aggressive...

Another thing is the all black grill with the chrome A looks like my Civic grill, which isn't a bad thing but once you paint it black, theres no going back!

Does anyone have their entire grill dipped in chrome on an NBP? Haven't gotten mine painted yet so I wanna see a chrome one. I have a feeling it'll look as good as a NBP grill.

In the grille thread I mentioned earlier, Brettallica's comes the closest. It's all chrome, but it's WDP though. It's one of the first grilles shown in the thread if you want to see what it looks like (just the grille part).

Yeah I've seen that one but... it doesn't *pop*. Not a huge fan of WDP. I think it would look much better on a NBP but don't wanna do it and not like it.

This looks chromed... maybe?

Not to derail... But I have read about people going to Home Depot to find a gutter guard and using that as a grill mess. I can only seem to find guards that have a vertical line every few inches instead of a true flush pieces with just the diagonal mess. Any suggestions for places to look, or another piece of material besides a gutter guard?
