You guys are a BAD influence on me!

I'm 27 years old. I'm a "grown up."

When I was 22 I had a Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 that I would race against any old lady that looked at me crossways at a stop light.

I got rid of the GT in 2004 and drove an Accord for 4 years.

Last month I bought a 2006 WDP TL- I'm absolutely in LOVE with the car- I've wanted one since the G3 body style came out in '04- and I FINALLY got one.

It's been a month- and up until yesterday- truthfully, I hadn't really "tested" it at all.

A friend of mine at the gym asked me last week "How fast have you gotten her?" I answered honestly, "I dunno, 80?"

I found this site 2 weeks ago- but just yesterday I found the "Racing and Competition" page. I started reading the stories you guys have posted here, and I couldn't get enough. Yesterday I sat at my desk- on Company time- reading, and reading- I couldn't WAIT to get on the road.

Last night on the ride home I was just SEARCHING for a race of some kind. Finally- I got it- 4 lane highway- I pulled up alongside some high school punk in a late 90s Mustang. He was just looking for a fight. I bsolutely SMOKED him! He was pissed!

I haven't felt like that since I was 22.

It was good to feel the rush again, the excitement and thrill of totally wasting some high school punk at the stop light.

I wanted to thank you guys for inspiring me- and for reminding me that- Although I AM 27- Shoot! I'm not 67!

Don't expect Azine to pay bail when you race an undercover cop.

but otherwise, interesting story. I love the look on people's faces when they've been beaten in what they thought was all that against a car that isn't that well known.

It's an auto.

Is there a big difference in the auto vs. the manual?

I would suggest not even TOUCHING the Performance & Modifcation subforum! It'll ruin you financially.

Man I wish most of it is all cosmetics. Front lip, lowering springs and shocks, wheels and intake. I think that is it for this year.

o man, this car has lots of potential, i'm tellin ya..

So what year VR4 did u ahve and was it modded?

I raced my friend in his VR-4 and from a roll, my 06 a/t TL kept up. =)

Now he's much faster with ugraded turbo's, downpipe, etcetc....
but anywho, congrats on the TL and nice kill =)

The 90's mustang aren't shiiit. I raced a 90's Cobra
and this kid was pissed that i beat him off the line and roll.. we raced 3 times that night and same results..

Goin to a 1/4 mile track and learning how to launch helps out i guess =)

My VR4 was a '98- bright red.

It was pretty much stock- from the factory. It did have tinted windows and a killer rear wing spoiler.

I wish I could have modded it more- but I've got Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (like the TV show Monk) and I'm afraid to Mod out of fear that one will go horribly wrong, wont look right, or will "ruin" the appearance of my TL forever.

I wish I could Mod my TL- but again, I'm afraid that something will go horribly wrong and forever change the look of my TL.

Here's a question; My TL is a Acura Certified Pre Owned.

If I make any changes under the hood- will that negate my Warranty? Just wondering.

not sure about acura but there is a law stating that the dealership can not "void" your warranty due to a mod UNLESS it is the direct cause of the problem.

for example if you supercharge your TL and your engine blows dealership has the right to void it.

FWIW i just got my long block replaced under warranty through my infiniti dealership while i had mods on the car. problem was engine consuming to much oil and i had no major engine work or anything that could have possibly caused the engine to consume that much oil so therefore they replaced it.

I'm in Pensacola Beach.

I wish I were closer- Miami is about a 10 hour trip.

Thanks though.

LOL....evidently you've never seen the show "Monk".

Don't even bother trying to rationalize.

So you're saying there's no difference in performance between the 5AT and 6MT?

I think there about the same, because i know in the preludes the Sport shift was always faster. (You cant out shift a computer) IMO tho....

Sorry man, but the 6MT cars are an easy 4-6 tenths and 4-5 mph faster than their 5AT counterparts. It isn't even debatable.
