Excellent tire for the money. I bought a set for my Eclipse Spyder based on Tire Rack's customer reviews and they are exactly as advertised...much better than the Nitto 450's I had before or the POS Eagle RS-A's that came stock.
Depending on how they wear to 20K miles, I plan on making them the next tire on my TL.
Good luck with your decision!

I have them on my A-SPEC 18s... I really like... obviously there is more road noise, but compared to the NITTO 555 Extremes that I had on my last car, they are a better value. Grips well, and has good lateral support. My NITTO's had a large contact patch, flatter than most, but I still think these AVS's are better. my 2 cents.

I'll let you know how they are when I get the car tomorrow. -- Tirerack.com rates it 5th within its class of tires - not bad.

So far, I have heard positive response about them...

I put about 27k on a set of 225/50/16 AVS ES 100s on my 325i.
They still look relatively new.
I think they are the best value in a performance tire today. That makes them the perfect tire for the TL. I will be picking mine up with the 18s in the Spring.

The ES100 is good performing tire, but it can't hang with S03s and the like, which cost about twice as much.
You don't need SO3s on your TL. If you want to spend the extra cash, great, but unless you are tracking your car or driving at 9/10s or above on the street, you won't be disappointed in the ES 100s.

As I've now got three sets of tires, and it snows here in MD, I'm looking to ship these to someone who will get some use out of them. Never been used, new from the Tire Rack. Willing to pay shipping with below market pricing.
