Yet again another Dealer problem.

I love the Tl, but the service from Acura is horrible. I requested my original wheels back. They first claimed they had given me credit towards the new wheels. I countered with "well I paid $1600.00 for the wheels MSRP is 1516.00 (Acura Website) and Paid 1000.00 for tires which cost 675.00(Tire Rack). This is not including labor charges. I didn’t know the actual prices for the products at the time of purchase or I wouldn't have purchased the kit from them. After proving them wrong, they then said it is against their (dealership) policy to return the wheels if upgraded. Well the law is on my side. I am contacting Acura and the Kansas/Missouri fraud division. By law in Missouri anything stated on the Window sticker must be equipped or surrendered to purchaser. I have been dealing with Lexus since the age of 16. I expected the same outstanding customer service from the dealer and Acura, but I guess I expected to much. The upside is, I love the car.

I take it you went to Jay Wolfe? I got my 03 TLS there and wasnt so happy with any of the service i got from the salesman or the service dept. I now take my car to Superior, i think its the lesser of the 2 evils. Who was your salesman?

Good luck with getting your wheels back. Before suing them, I would write them a firm letter (Send a copy to the service manager, general manager, and sales manager, and the owner of the dealership if you can get their information) and kindly quote the law for them. Break down the prices for them and make sure they see why you deserve your wheels back, especially if your sales contract did not specify a discount for the upgrade.

Indicate your willingness to settle this matter amicably and without taking it to small claims, but also inform them that if pressed, you will take it to court.

Good luck!

Small claims court is a wonderful thing. So is your state's Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act, if you have one. In NC, if you win, you get 3x your actual damages. Of course, you already knew all that.

One Acura dealer is not representative of all Acura dealers. I am satisfied with mine, for the most part. I read your other thread and agree that you were definitely taken. If you want to pursue it, BBB arbitration may be another way to go, but small claims court might get you faster results. Then switch dealers for service; you gave them too much money once, this could be indicative of how they charge you for service (ripoff prices).

This is one thing that I don't understand as far as imports go. Since I have been driving Domestic Junk for the past 14 years.
Anyway you mean to tell me that from acura's web site listed under "select exterior accessories" are all dealer installed options???
Any domestic car that you install options you never see the standard stuff with you car because the options are installed at the factory.

So let me get this strait... if they are installed only at the dealer and you didn't get to keep your origional parts that is horseshit and I would do exactly what you set out to do. Sue their ass. You paid for the parts up front!!!

Yes TL_CLT I know about the Act and that if a violation is found, it often provides treble (triple) damages. Missouri along with all 50 states have Consumer Fraud Acts. Of course, you already knew all that. - TL_CLT I am just joking please take no offense. Thanks for the help. I am trying to stay away from legal recourse. I wish to resolve the issue expeditiously.
