i remember one night i was on the highway going home from my friend's b-day party. So i was going at 65 (which was the speed limit over here in boston plus i had a few drinks but not too much that it impaired my driving). So anyways, i see this car coming up fast in my rear view mirror. it was a corolla-S The car pulls up right next to me so i'm like hmmmm...i'm guessing he wants to have a run. So i'm driving in SS and i downshift to 3rd and then i punch it. I was about 2 car lengths ahead until he starts pulling up right next to me again and we stayed there until we hit about 120. I'm thinking in my head like wtf? i shoulda smoked this dude. Maybe it was b/c i had 4 other ppl in car? Idk, but i'm not sure if he had any mods since my music was up pretty high. A few minutes later, i noticed he slowed down dramatically and i'm sitting there scratching my head. Next thing i know i see this D-tec car pulling up fast as fuck right behind me with his lights on and so my heart was beating pretty fast. So i moved to the right lane thinking he was gonna pull me over anyways but he just guns it right passed me. I was scared shitless...lol, but anyways, shouldn't i have beat that corolla?? i have a '00 btw with no mods.

 

Could it be the corolla XR-S with the celica engine? I don't know cause it was at night and you had a few drinks right...and with 4 people in the car..your car would weigh well over 4000lbs...a 140hp 5MT stock would do 0-60 in around 7.5s, so I think a MT corolla S with like 130hp should be around 8 seconds too, which could be just about as fast as a TL-P with 4 people in it.

 

iforyou, remeber this is at highway speeds already so the TL should've still put bus lengths on that corolla-S if it was stock.

 

yea, that's true, so I suspect that was a XR-S, with that 164 yamaha-tuned engine...perhaps with a few mods too??
