Wow... too good to be true?
I need your opinions. I'm not too familiar with craigslist, and I know there are scams on there like crazy.
Here's the scoop, I found this Type S for $3450... emailed the lady, and got a pretty legit sounding email in return. Is there something I'm missing here that points to a scam?
Here is the ad
http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/ctd/4036152833.html
and this is what she emailed me:
"Hi,
Thank you for contacting me about my 2007 Acura TL Type S that I have for sale. This car is in great shape (41,000 miles, vin# 19UUA76547A002754). It has no damage, no scratches or dents, no hidden defects. It is in immaculate condition, meticulously maintained and hasn't been involved in any accident...I do have the title, clear, under my name. Non-smoker. My husband and I divorced last month, after the divorce I was awarded the car, I don't need it and that's why I'm selling it so cheap. The total price is $3,450 including delivery and handling. It is located in Seattle,WA. I recently moved here after I divorced.
We can use Amazon FPS for our safety and for payment I prefer to use a Amazon Payment's buyer protection plan. The financial part will be managed by them.
Which means that you will have 10 days inspection period before committing to buy the vehicle, a refund policy is included. The deal will go strictly according to Amazon Payments rules and policy. There are no other costs on this transaction through Amazon. Let me know if you want to buy it and i will send you more details and photos.
Regards,
Lisa Baker"
On a side note, if there is anyone in Seattle who would be willing to scope this puppy out and see if it's legit, I'll pay you for your time.

anytime you talk to the seller and they mention "my husband died, i no longer want to keep it" "my husband got deployed over seas and doesn't need it" "i'm deployed and don't need it" "my husband and I just got divorced" etc etc those are a RED FLAG that it's clearly a scam.
Especially if they claim that the car will have to be "shipped" to you.
Nowhere on this planet today will you get a 1-owner, 41,00 mile, accident-free TL-S for under $10,000. Maybe within the next 5 years

Looks like the ad is gone from Craigs List now. I have heard some divorced women doing stuff like that for spite. Make's no sense since she could just go to CarMax and unload the car for a lot more $$.
you are kidding right? there are plenty of ads for mercedes, porchse, bmw etc almost brand new for $3450 on craigslist.. why would you pick an acura tl for 3450? i would go with the mercedes or porchse.. lol.. let me know if you need the craigslist links. lol
Thats what they do. They post ads in other states so ppl want to ship it, and get scammed. Thats why last time I saw one of those ads in my area, it was like $5000 for an rsx, so it wasnt like too ridiculous, but the guy responded that hes in texas. I told him "luckily for you Im in texas for vacation right now I'll come check it out" then he responded that the car is actually some east coast state(i forgot which) then I responded "yeah Im going there soon, can I check out the car?"
then he never responded lol
then he never responded lol
Op was too late! Someone else must got got an excellent deal because tha Ad is gone. <---red text implied
**I guess that why there are soo many scammers...because people still fall for it.

Guys, I helped a Nigerian prince move his funds from Nigeria to the States. He promised me a large sum of cash and I've been waiting for him to pay me since 2004. I'm sure the wire transfer takes a while since it's a lot of money.
That EXACT same price pops up on craigslist for cars in every county in every state every day almost. Plus you have to think rationally, if a car easily Kelly Blue Booked for 18 to 20k is in perfect condition, what in the world would they be doing selling it for 3450? Hell I'd call them insane for selling it for 10k.
Yup! The check is in the mail. You should be seeing it any day now.
Funny, I sent my checking account and social security numbers to a rich widow from Zimbabwe who was having some cash flow issues, and just needed me to handle some international import and shipping fees. A couple days later I received 2800 lbs. of gold bullion at my house via Fedex.
