is it worth it?!

So what exactly do dealers for A1 service??? Reason I ask is, I have an 06 TL with 38k miles and its due for a service. I called the dealer (Rallye Acura in NY) and they quoted me $590 for it, its insane! I asked what do they do and they said:

- oil change
- rotate tires
- check hoses
- check lights

What else do they do for $590??? Im so puzzled...

A1=$34.95.

Look at what you listed, and look at your maintenance guide in the owner's manual. All it is is an oil change and tire rotation.

590 is too much. Ask again what will they do in 590.

All you need is the A1-- which is $50-$80 at Acura dealers out here, and lower from independent shops.

However, Rallye may be quoting you some [completely unnecessary] 30K-mile service, including changing air & cabin filters, new plugs, valve adjustment, change of fluids for the brakes, transmission, steering, etc.
At least, I hope that is what Rallye would give you for that kind of service quote, none of which is called for under the A1.

I just told them do the oil change and probably an alignment since my car pulls a bit to the left and also a little shimmy on the steering wheel on various speed sometimes. I also told them to do an ATF change which is at $104, is that a good price? I know its a little high but I dont feel like crawling under the car, im not that confident to go under even tho I have jackstands and a hydraulic jack. Now how can I tell if they change the ATF oil, will I feel it shifting smoother?

The only way you can tell is to look at the fluid from the dipstick. Make sure you get a printout of the alignment.
