Woohoo!!!!

Just pulled off the lot this morning with my new 05TL Anthracite/Quartz 6SP!!!

Holy crap, someone needs to pinch me to see if I am dreaming...never thought it was possible to build something this sweet!!! I drove it home from the dealer and pulled into the driveway...I didn't want to get out! Going back out tonight! LOL

It's so solid, quiet, sleek, powerful, smooth, luxurious, this list could go on and on....

Any special break-in things you guys think I should know? I haven't even come close to red-line yet (as hard as that is) - thought I should wait for the first 1000?

and HOLY CRAP, what a sound system.....I could sit in there for hours just listening to it.

Thanks for the welcome everyone! I look forward to posting and reading in this awesome forum!

Peace!

the manual says to take an easy the first 600 miles so i would be reluctant to take it anywhere close to redline. it doesn't say to keep it below any rpm but no jack rabbit starts or hard braking(200 miles). that's what most people on this forum did and i can't say anyone has suffered from it.

As long as you stay under redline before your first oil change...

I always change oil on a new car within the first 500-600 miles... Then the normal 3000 miles...

After that... drive it like it was meant to be driven...

Congrats...

Great car...
Nice color...
Great trans...

Best of luck with this car and this forum...

Regards
Salut

congrats.....

You will enjoy the car for years. Another member to add to my list......let me see I have small arms tranning and marksmanship qualification also special combat traning and of course other classified traning. The reason I add you to my list, is because you drive a great car that I can't have, at least for now. Please bring good info to the forum.

I'm going to wait for SH-AWD.

I used to do the same thing in the good old days, but now the lubricants and materials and processes used in building the engine have evolved to a different level.

The general consensus of opinion here in this forum is to follow the recommendation in the Owner's Manual and wait for the MID to tell you when it is time for the first oil change. Or at least wait until the MID gets down to 15-20% oil life remaining.

This is because there are additives in the oil which are there to assist in the breaking-in process. At any rate, you should leave it in long enough for these additives to do their job.

Not to flame too much, but don't you think you should remain UNDER redline for the LIFE of the car?

J/K...

Good call... although I never said you should exceed redline... I said that you should stay under redline... But I see where my post may have been misleading... For that I apologize...

That being said, I would expect that any car "should" be able to survive the occational trip into the red... Without exploding...

No car should be that fragile...

Peace
