Windshield wipers
What's up with these wipers - another soggy day yesterday in NJ and after my wipers were going for about 1/2 hour on intermittent - my passenger side wiper was leaving a black line on my windshield - is that common or just cheap wipers? No biggie - it comes off, but i have used them what 4 -5 times since I got it and I never put them on a dry window. Anyone already replace theirs?

My wipers work perfectly fine with no streaks, black marks, etc... My guess is that you have a defective wiper perhaps.
If it were me, I would just put some quality new wipers on myself and not take my TL back to the dealer....the less time my car is in their hands the better (if I can do the repair/tweek myself).

I try my best to avoid dealers. I use them only for the serious crap. I will swap them out for sure. Where can I get these "PIAAs " ?

This will tell you a bit more about the blades....I'm sure you can pick these up at any auto parts store in your area.

Be careful not to get the 2003 TL size wipers, as the 2004 driver side is 1" bigger (27" vs. 26") - I don't think the reference lists have been updated for 2004 yet.

For 2004 - are both 27" or is driver and passenger side diff sizes?
I'm finding that a lot with the 2004 info not being out. Tried to get a Fram air filter - you thought I was asking for the 2008 model or something...

Sounds like a job for Mr. Tape Measure...

Depending upon how long your car sat after it was built, it is possible that the blades ended up disintegrating due to element exposure. It's amazing how many new cars end up being affected by this. The dealer might replace them for you but I doubt it as they are considered a normal wear item.

I suspect she sat for a few months. No biggie. Someone recommended PIAA's? I'll ask for them for my B-Day.
