How Long Before First Wax?

Greetings to all ... just picked up my TL this week. Traded in a 2003 Infiniti G35S/6MT.

Dealer could not answer this question: how long should you wait before waxing your car the first time? Waxed my Infiniti every 90 days and looked awesome.

Opinions appreciated, thanks!

ASAP. Get a coat before dirt start piling up on the clear coat. I wish I did mine the same day I got the delivery but weather did not permit. The first Sun I got I did mine.

According to Maguiar's (sp?) website a car can be waxed as soon as it comes off the line because the paint is cured at a much higher temperature than is used after a paint job. If the high heat was used on a new paint job the rubber and plastic would melt. The lower temperature for non-factory paint requires the paint to be cured for 30 to 90 days before waxing.

Why'd you trade a manual G35 for a auto TL?

Depending on how anal you are about your car and how much time your willing to spend on it, but anyways. you should always hand wash, and strip old wax every thirty days. Then reapply a fresh coat of wax and polish. If you keep this up your paint should stay slick and the color will always look great. Also polish and wax help keep UV dammage to a min. And you wont get as many freakin bugs stuck to your paint.
