I have done it in the past. It is getting harder to find someone around here to do it anymore.
All you need is around 50%, nothing dark. Doing that and 32-35% on the rest will make it look really dark but still be legal.
In my last car that I had this done to I got pulled over several times for tint but each time the meter showed legal and the tint on the front window was so light you could not tell it was even tinted.
