Windows closing very forcefully!!!!!!!!

Its windows on steroids!!!The front windows have done this since new. It even makes a "whoop" kind of slamming sound. They always close quite forcefully when the auto- up button is activated. Is this normal?? I am concerned that maybe the window regulators are not set up correctly. It feels and sounds like the glass could be damaged or that it could come out of the tracks?! No other car has exhibited it like my 2004 TL. Anybody else notice this? Thanks for your input. Regards

I wouldn't worry about it. In fact, I'm glad the power windows have some oomph to them, since so many cars have weak and slow motors.

My windows really slam shut as well - I have had the car about 3 weeks.

I think that's just how they close. My wife's Honda Pilot's windows close the same way.

My dealer has been trying to fix the drivers window rattle/ squeak/ creak thing, and claims there isn't any stop control on the windows and they are creating too much pressure inside the door frame which cause the noises. They claim to have placed a shim inside my door to reduce this pressure, but the noises persist - either they're wrong or they didn't get the shim right yet.

I can't say that I've noticed any excess force when closing the window. I'll pay attention when I leave the parking garage today. If it is linked to the door rattles, I don't have any of those either so perhpas my windows are fine.

I'll post again if I do notice something.

Actually it does do this. The sales guy stuck his arm in the window when we test drove and it went back down.

Bluenoser,

I just had my dealer supposedly fix this issue last Friday. My windows/inside door would rattle on both the front driver and passenger evrytime I had my window all or part of the way down whenever I shut my door. I just noticed they're still doing the same thing and have also notice the creaking and popping sound while driving with the window down. They claimed to have put new window channels in for both sides. I'm going back when I get a chance. This is the 4th time at the dealer in 2 months! Ridiculous!
