Molesking is a felt, sticky on one side in our application, which is applied to the rubber wiper found inside the door on our TLs adn TSX. Search the board for moleskin DIY.

K-Shawn: do you know if they applied molesking to both blades of the vipers, top one or a bottom one only? I can't seem to find a consensus here on this board. I installed it on the lower vipers only, but it's been only a month and my tint was already scratch before that, so can not tell if this helps me.

The website is (lorenzotint.com) and they are located in NYC Bronx, the price was $300.00 lifetime warranty. Moleskin is a felt like material that is place inside the door panel to prevent scratches on actual film. If you want to try him out I'll roll down there with you.

You have to install it on upper & lower vipers, when the window goes up or down the viper with the rubber will still have contact on the film. So you did half the prevention and the outcome is half the scratches.

Wow that's very close to me, I'm in Edison. Do they use moleskin?

When you install your tint, you want for the installer to remove the door panels to apply the film to the entire glass and install the moleskins. Also you want for the installer to remove the rear quarter window to apply the film to entire rear quarter window.

Got 35% all around done at Auto Image on the Somerville Circle. The brand is HP Madico, lifetime warranty, and was $249. Didn't get moleskin and so far have no problems except one scratch that might be my own fault, as I forgot about the tint for a second and rolled down the window the day after it was done . I also haven't been hassled by any cops at all (I live in Somerset County).

I'm thinking about it, but gotta wait til I pick up my car (buying used car). I see 4 brands listed on their website, so I assume we have the option?? I'm thinking either the Llumar or 3M right now. Anyone have comparisons on these two?

This is another place I heard good things about, anyone else have experience with them?

MoleSkin and Tint in NJ

I went to the Tint Shop on Rt.1 in edison NJ. They knew about the moleskin and told me where to get it, they also knew about not putting metallic tint in navigation based cars. I got 5% in the back windows and left the front passenger windows alone. I was tired of getting pulled over in my 03 TL when I had all the windows tinted, I got harrased a few times a week. I can think of a better way to blow 50 bucks other then a tint ticket. Plus if you NJ people know about towns like Highland park and metuchen you'll know why I gave in.

Yeah, in some areas it could be a concern but it still doesn't make sense because they still allow you to tint the back as dark as you want. Think about it. If someone was back there with a gun they wouldn't see him/her either. I don't know, just my $0.02.

So the question is, how many of had tint applied completely to the rear quarter windows? I'm looking for a place in Central Jersey which will tint it all the way back and not leave the line.

Just got pulled over yesterday for my 20% tinted front windshield. Officer didn't even realize that the side glass were tinted 5%, but he realize that he couldn't see me from the front. Pulled out my state I.D. and he gave me a verbal warning. This incident happen in Sayerville NJ unmark unit facing oncoming traffic, enroute to F1 Motoring for a Dub Magazine shot and to test fit my 20x8.5 front & 20x10 in the rear Donz wheels.

Pardon my ignorance, but what's the point to have your windshield tinted 20% and only 5% on the sides (and back?) ?
And how do you drive at night with windshield tinted 20% ?

Dude trust me......I can see out the window, it's for style. The windshield protects the interior from UV Rays and the 5% looks good. Its myride and I don't give a f!@? what anybody has to say about the windows, I like it. Don't be a .

My bag......was having a bad day yesterday, I won't need a inspection until 08. If you have a hookup you can buy a sticker for $85.00 .

Hey, no prob, I also got confused with tint % when I asked you why u have 20% on the front and ONLY 5% on the sides. I though 5% is lighter than 20%, so I just could not picture your car that way

Than I checked my own records, found that I have %20 on the back and 35% and 50% on the sides and figured I imagined it all wrong..

The lower % the darker the tint!

$85 sound like a good deal, I'd go for it any time.
I moved to NJ 2 years ago from NYC, and don't know anybody here, tried talking to a few shops here in my area, but they said no-can-do. I guess 'cuz I don't know them personally..
Any sugesstions or solutions willl be appretiated in PM please!
I got my inspection coming up in 1.2007

It's the small towns looking to make money on any little minor thing.

I was pulled over a few years back for having a license plate cover. Cop actually made a u-turn in traffic (which I was unaware of), next thing I know, I see flashing lights. He told me he was pulling me over because of the plate cover, but ended up writing me up for having an expired insrurance card (insurance had just renewed the day before and I forgot to put my new card in the wallet).

Thinking of tinting my TL-S, will definitely leave the fronts untouched.

The medical card must be obtained prior to the tint. The tint can only be applied by three certified shops in NJ.

How do you guys get your car pass inspection? I'll be moving back to NJ next year and have tint on my front windows. I remeber back in the day there were private inspection stations where if you slip them a twenty they'll let stuff go...

Tint

Except then you still get tagged for the tint regardless of the inspection sticker. If you make an issue out of it, the private inspection station examiner is subpoenaed and is required to testify to why a improperly equipped vehicle was passed. At best they alway say the tint was added later. If he doesn't, NJ DMV is notified of a fraudulently operated DMV Inspection and the AJ decides where to go from there. It isn't worth if for a twenty to loss the license to inspect after spending six figures for the equipment. Nowadays the small guy is out of that line of work.

It still works.. early this year my brothers Pathfinder failed for at least 9 different things and it was passed. Plus this was a state run DMV
