Window tinting in Central NJ

Hello everyone...first time posting but have been browsing for last couple of months.

I have a 2006 NBP TL w/Navi and I'm looking to get some tints and was wondering if any members here live in Central NJ and know of a good place to do this.

Thanks for your help....

Lucky

Tint Shop in Edison NJ on Rt. 1 (732-650-9100) Used them in the past on all my previous vehicles. They do great work.

Tint Tech in East Brunswick (732-763-1404) He did my car and I'm more than happy with the results, no issues, good price. The Owner used to work at the Tint Shop.

Both do excellent work.

What was the Pricing like at both locations (Assume 5 windows (all but windshield) at 20%)? I'm from Freehold NJ.

The Tint Shop in Edison installs Moleskin, don't know if TintTech does. I installed my own Moleskin.

ok...what are moleskins and would I need them for 2006 tl w/Navi? I've also seen some threads about the type of tint that would not interfere with navi and xm radio. How many types are there?

moleskin is a felt like strip that they can put on the inside of the window trim so that the tint doesnt get scratches on it when going up and down...and yes you need it on the TL to be safe....get a ceramic tint which is what most offer and you should be good for XM and nav

Auto Works in Middletown on Rt 35 is where I had mine done. Great work. I always get tint done there. Also, there is a tint/detail shop on Rt 79/ East Main St. in Freehold.

Thanks...Yup...another question. We are not allowed to tint the front windows at all unless it's a medical necessity? Only the rear is allowed?

Yep but unless a cop is having a pissy day he won't deal with you...if hes pissy then he'll cite you to have it removed.

Hmmm...not sure if it's worth the hassle and that also means that when inspection is due...we have to remove them anyways.

Maybe I'll do just the back and get it a little darker since I'm reading that as long as we have side mirrors, we can go as dark as we want. Would that look funny? Sort of like a SUV.

Thanks

Roll your windows down all the way at inspection they won't check for it.

You could also get your inspection done at private inspection facility.

I for one would prefer not to be harassed by the cops for tinted front windows, because when you drive through the small towns, they're looking for any little thing to make a stop.
