People talk about all different tint prices from around 100, all the way up to 450. The lower price tint jobs use lesser cost, lower end tint materials. There's tons of different type tint material available. Huper Optic ceramic is one of the best with high heat rejection, but is very expensive. Nickel Chrome is another good material, but you won't find it used on $100 jobs. The lower end materials are more likely to degrade quicker, color fade, bubble, and will reject much less heat.

OP: they did a crappy job on your tint. As others stated, the went around the 3rd brake light, and left a gap in the quarters. Personally I wouldn't accept that.

Word of advice.... If you want the full rear window tinted and full quarter glass tinted, tell them up front and insist it is clearly stated on the work order, or job invoice, in other words, in writing before they start the job.

It all depends on what that 250 includes. Tint material type, mfg warranty, tint workmanship warranty, tint person's skill, type of car, all factor in.

as1 line is fine...if you tint your entire windshield you are a dumbass...and whoever does it will eventually learn their lesson.

A lot of people even tint their windshields with 35%. I have 55% on mine. It's actually very easy to see out of day or night. The first night I had it done, I got in my car to go somewhere and I actually forgot I had it done. 50% film has a slight tint but not much at all. It's clear enough that when i got pulled over for tint yesterday, the highway patrol didn't even notice the windshield.

Just out of curiosity: don't cop cars have to follow Tint law? I saw couple of Cop cars (actually the SUV vans mostly) they have 5% rear and not more than 20% front.
