Why is there a cut circle underneath the left headlight?

Why is there a cut circle underneath the left headlight?
Is this a stupid question? But do all TL 04s have a circle on the front of their car underneath the left headlight? What is that?
If it needs to be there, why didn't Acura place it on both sides? Sure makes me wonder! Someone pointed that out when checking out my new car and I was like WHOA! Good question!

And can you elaborate on the towing hook? Does this circle pop out and some hook comes out to help lock onto a tow truck? They should've put this on both sides even if the right one is only a cosmetic look. I'm a little disappointed about this. Kinda ruins the entire smoothness of the front. I think this really stands out (now that I know it's there)... Shoudl I expect these replies? :whocares:

Doesn't anyone take time to read the manual? It is indeed a " tow " hook. There is a tow bolt located in your spare tire compartment that you screw into that hole if you require vehicle to be pulled such as when loaded onto a flatbed trailer or if stuck in mud or snow etc. This is provided since bumper would not withstand pull and no easy place to attach a hook and cable.

Yes, indeed- like a screen door on a submarine
George is correct.
It's a cover for a threaded socket that accepts the tow eye stowed under the trunk floor. Same as BMW, Porsche, MBZ.
Ihottl: The temperature sensor is in the middle of the bumper cover but not visible from the front. It actually is picking up the temp about a foot off the pavement which is why many people think that it is reading high.
My theory is that it was put there so you would know when the road surface is close to freezing for safety reasons- black ice, etc.
Of course, where I am, the only ice is in the Margueritas.

PS: expect an email from a TEAM NIGHTHAWK applicant: JPritch
I recommend him/her for "High Chancellor"

Do we really need to get technical?? People should know what I've been talking about from the beginning instead of acting like you don't see it.
Again I think Acura should've put it on both sides if it really needed to be there whether it's for a towing hook or not. It looks weird. And I did read the manual, however I didn't read it word for word. I'd rather someone tell me on these forums what is is rather than me looking for it in the manual. Most of us on these forums are people bored at work and don't tend to carry the manuals in the back of our pocket.

Yah, maybe your're right, I deserve those two middle fingers if trying to make left/right so technical. Maybe I also should be to blame for the RTFM smilies. You could say whatever you like. I won't flame or finger you.
My point is the thread poster, especially the thread creator, should come with precise description or questions (sometimes pictures are quite useful), this is the better way for experienced members trouble-shoot or answer your questions right to the point, and this is also to help newbies understand what this thread is talking about.
While I see "left", I knew what you're talking about, but wondered why you put "left" instead of "right". That's why I posted the picture for you. I try to help ppl understand.
Without saying thanks to me, you started to bash my technical terms... ok, it's all my fault. :o
