Talking Why Do G35 Driver's Always Do That??

It happens to me at least once a day where a G driver will see me slow down and try to RACE. I wish i could but i usaully have my 9 month old Daughter and not willing to risk anything when she is in the car. WHY DO THEY ALWAYS TRY TO RACE YOU? THEY SEEM TO THINK THEY ARE THE FASTEST ON WHEELS. HERE IS A 350Z TWIN TURBO GETTING HIS ASS HANDED TO HIM.

If you own an Acura, people will try to race you, its just a fact. Hell, I had an RL for a loaner once and I had morons trying to race me.

Cool clip. Fun to hear the engine rev.

Gotta admit though that 350Z looks wicked at night (albeit as it's being passed by tthe TL.)

Seems to happen to me to a few times lately, new TL drivers come blasting past me in a unsafe enviroment. And act like they want to run, but I won't due to unsafe conditions.

I get that from ricers whenever I drive my Maxima....I usually pay them no mind. Not worth: us having an accident, us causing an accident, me getting 5pts on my license, me wasting my $1.85/gallon, etc,....

I've got a TL with tints/kit/W.W. Wing and no one tries to race with me Of course, I also have a kicking stereo and wouldn't hear them revving even if they had a harley (..it's LOUD).

My enemy as it turns out seems to be anything with the nissan VQ 3.5 motor in it. I am now 3-0, including a G35, 98 Maxima, and 350Z that just didn't have the balls to do 140 on the freeway. The TL might not be the fastest of the bunch, but it's so close that my own insanity always makes the difference. Muahahaha

No one ever wants to race me. Not that I am all that interested in racing anyway. That is not what I bought the car for. Plus, where I live there are lots of nice cars (mostly BMW's and Mercedes) but they are not driven by the kind of idiots that want to race all the time. They are driven by mostly people over 30 and are pretty well off. No racing kids/punks around really. In other words, it's a great place. Hell, my TL doesn't even get many looks at all since all the other 50k, 70k and 100k cars get the attention.

I wonder if you'll still be laughing when you end up like this guy:

http://www2.ocregister.com/ocrweb/oc...month=7&day=24

Bottom line, it wasn't an absence of balls that prevented Mr. 350Z from going 140 MPH on a public road; it was a presence of brains.

I said something like this in another thread on saturday regarding someone who currently drives a civic and wondered about buying a tl and being a 'boy racer' only I was a lot more direct and annoyed. I got a warning about personal attacks which was not my point. I agree 100% about the idiots who dont have anything better to do than mess up their car and challenge anyone whom they think has a fast car. we dont live in a fast and furious world people. and we arent lame for ignoring your 'challenges'.

Yeah I'm with you as well, its not one day that goes by that I am challenged by certain cars in my 03 Max SE and 350Z. They seem to pace me and speed adn slow down to see i I bite I, I dont 9 times outta ten and we know how thirsty the 3.5's are.

great video,,, i have a slv tl six speed nav on 18"s I get alot of compliments on how it looks .. ive only raced twice once was embarassing.. I left the vsa on and a sunbird gt jumped the light so i ran till about sixty then stopped the next light vsa off told him to wait till green tacked up to abuout 4g and blew him off the road.. I knew my car was faster and should not have entertained the guy by risking another ticket,,, then to top it off i slowed down next to him and let him down shift then i woud and just pass him .... the other car i raced was a hopped up civic sounded like he had a turbo with blow off valve it was pretty much the same results... i guess he did'nt expect me to run my car so hard hah hah

Hahahah. Why do all 3.5VQ people need to prove something? Nobody with a nissan can touch me. They try all the time. Why? To prove that there is a reason they bought an inferior car at the same price as I did? Someone should not talk about brains if they try to race a person with a slower car and still lose. Suck it good my friend. BTW, 4-0 now. Those G35s just keep coming and I just keep knockin them out of the park.

Some chump in a silver Olds aurora tried to "race" me today.
He was in the on-ramp lane, and I was in the next lane over. I had to get over to his lane to get on the highway, and I guess he didn't like that idea. When the light went green, I floored it, and got far enough in front to change lanes, in only about 1/8th of a mile. It was fun, and I didn't even turn off VSA...

I drive a nice 4-lane curvy road home in west Austin each evening. Invariably, I'll get some yahoo riding my ass trying to push me through the curves, during rush hour no less! Tons of traffic and all. Today, I had a chick in a Mercedes and an old guy in an S2000 trying to test me - what a laugh.

On an up note, I pushed my engine into the VTEC zone for the first time today (4,700 rpm plus - 1,200 miles). The power boost was incredible!

Its not that it is not FUN to race but always a lace for that. I wonder sometimes to why people in heavy traffic will race. ALL cars in traffic no matter what kind of car will go 0-60 in the same amount of time. Its those idiots that takes the shoulder and goes like 100 mph. To me that just shows how stupid you care for yourself and for others you may die who cares but why punish someone else for your stupidity.

the car that the video was being taken from looked like a civic. I know this because i had one. The airbag tray looked like that, and civics have those little circular vents on the dash. For sure it was a 96 and up, but not sure if it was a sedan, coupe, or hatchback.

I got tested by an Audi A4 Turbo but didn't bite. I'm still getting used to the 1st gear clutch engagement and am not particularly fast yet. I see this guy daily so his time will come. I'm really impressed with how this car takes off when the Vtec kicks in - like lighting off a booster rocket.

Schmuck here. After reading all this crap on TL vs. G35 I've been dying to get in an acceleration contest with a G35 sedan. Everyone I see I try to jocky in position to be the first spot at the light. I'm sure this will piss G35 owners and woman alike off but I've pulled up to 7 or 8 G35's in the last week and a half and guess what? They've all been woman driving them, most appearing to be in their late 30's or early 40's. Do any men buy this car???? Not to say that a housewife wouldn't race but I would feel stupid revving the motor next to some middle aged woman.

Most coupe owners in So Cal are guys. I have to agree that most sedan owners i've seen are women. I bet the TL will be in the same position too If someone wants to play at a light, I sometimes oblige...but under the right circumstances (no traffic, cross traffic, etc..). You have to be careful first. My favorite runs are on the highway (especially on I-15 at night with nobody around).
