Who's waiting for the AEM?

Seeing as how I'm still working to pay off my share of the car, insurance, gas, etc. I'm not in a rush to spend money so I think I can wait. My question is how many people are waiting for the AEM? I'm waiting for the AEM vs the others because I have heard the AEM intakes tend to usually be of better build quality and better gains. Am I alone in this or are others waiting also?

I was but I got tired of waiting, plus I got a really good deal on an Injen. The extra $$$ for an AEM for just a few HPs wasn't worth it to me, not to mention the wait time.

AEM has proven that they do NOT have a CAI for the new TL. Anything to the contrary is complete hersay until one shows up on my door step. PS - I'm not holding my breath...

I've been to the website too. But, I think the point is that it is STILL not out. I understand R&D takes time, but its ridiculous to have a dyno out and STILL be working on the intake. How is that possible? Is the dyno still valid then because the product might be "new" and "improved" from all the R&D no?

With most of these aftermarket products, I've decided not to think about it until it is out, because 90% of the time, it will be delayed even further.

To get back to the original discussion, I'm waiting for an intake, but not AEM. I'm hoping Comptech comes out with an Icebox. I like how they design it, and hey in NY if there is less chance of hydrolock that's even better...

My point EXACTLY. They've been "promising" it for nearly 6 months now. At this point, it's vaporware... Nothing but empty promises. In other words, same ole sh...

I'm waiting for either an AEM v2 like we have in our V6 Accord (AWESOME, btw) or the Icebox. We'll see what actually comes to market!

It's very cool. Check this out from the website. "AEM’s patented air bypass valve virtually eliminates the chance of hydro-lock in the event the filter of your AEM Cold Air induction system becomes submerged in water. The valve installs along the upper portion of the inlet pipe and shuts down induction at the filter when it becomes submerged, rerouting air through its external diaphragm to keep water out and air flowing in. "

Check it out at http://www.aempower.com/product_intake.asp

Out of curiosity...are there any dynos of a CAI with the bypass valve as opposed to without the valve (all other factors being the same)? I'd like to know if the valve reduces any gains...any theories at least?
