My best is 32.4mpg Interstate average 65 mph, 210 miles on tank. Vin 179XX --OPPS missread this question. I only have 2200 miles in 4 weeks. There are many over 5K I'm sure.

Re: Who's got the highest mileage?

October vehicle, mileage 6.5k, first oil change 5% less at 5.7k.
City MPG 13-19, Highway MPG 23-32.

Actually, my mileage is not a lot, but in where I'm, my 04TL is the first TL for regular oil change in my dealer.

(My friend in LA, has no time to surf here, October car, about 13k, first oil change at 7.5k, City MPG about 19, Highway MPG about 28.)

Drove it home on 11/7/03 with 7 miles on it. Currently it has 5700 miles on it (give or take a few, haven't checked it for a couple days). That includes two fairly long trips, the first from to San Diego and back (from the Bay Area), the other to Las Vegas, Sedona AZ, Sante Fe NM, Phoenix AZ, L.A., and back. Also several shorter trips around Northern and Central California.

As far as gas milage goes, has anyone compared the TL's trip computer gas reading to actual? I never take the time to figure out actual. The trip computer is a bit too good to be true. It claimed I was getting 31-32 mpg on the open road and shows the total average since I broke it in (after 600 miles) of 25 mpg.

I run my own statistic in my PC. Basically, I got no way to figure out whether 04TL's trip computer has nearly-precise average in starting and cruising, but for overall average mpg per tank, I'd say its number is always +/- 1-3 mpg. Quite near to mpg of the trip computer.

Except in NJ, I always pump gas myself in order to have the fair fuel volume by the same techniccs. Then, input numbers and mileage into the PC.

You'll see them on most European cars, like the Mercedes, BMW, Audi, etc. It's this hazard reflective trangle you set up during emergencies. We have flares in the States, and Europeans use this triangle.

Not a very good picture, but here it is...

Trunk lid? I didn't know we had a trunk lid. Where is that?

I've had my car since 1/4 and I've got 1100 miles on it.

As he said, he probably like to attach it to the inside of trunk lid as many European vehicles have done. You will see it when opening up your trunk. Sometimes this is useful, but it's hard to scure it without making the annoying noise in uneven surface roads.

7900 miles since thanksgiving... of course most of it has been during the worst winter we've had in 15 years & the car has performed great.

I will share one thing that I have learned this winter that I would not wish on the worst minivan driver on the road. The most god awful most excrutiating pain known to man has to be taking this $35k+ beautiful piece of machinery on the highway to have her assaulted by a demon dumptruck with an apparatus on the back designed to spew rock salt at speeds equivelant to sand blasting shooting this sh*t into the side of my car. I'm having nightmares about hearing the sound of it...

I've been looking forward to spring to Zaino the car, by then the only thing left should be primer... I'll post pics!!

To those in the northeast with prolonged delivery dates, it's not all bad.

This is my nightmere also! On my way to work this morning I swear to God the plow drivers had a conference call and all of them decided to be on the road either in front of me or salting towards me. I had to clinch my teeth and pray the salt missed, a few times it did, but the ones that didn't sounded like gravel pounding my car. The horror!!!!!

My wife has concluded I am completely insane....

While I don't enjoy having my TL covered in salt or assaulted by rocks, it is just a mass produced sedan. They will make more.

For me, that horror pales in comparison to having a rock fly at my other car. I guess it just depends if the TL is your dream or your daily driver/winter beater. Being in the latter category, I don't have as much of an emotional attachment to the car.

All I can do is scream, floor it to pass 'em& hope there is some paint left when I get home...

If this happens a few more times I think i'll be joining you in the looney bin. :wow:

I wish I had your attitude. Babing a car is really stressful. Maybe in about 5 years, it'll become a basic transportation, but I'm sure for most of us here, it's more than a transportation.
