Who here has installed the Autozone cmax gold ceramic brake pads. Question.

This question only applies to the Brembo equipped cars.
I pulled my rotors and had them turned and then installed new Autozone c-max gold ceramic brake pads. The install went smoothly and everything is back together but I just want to ask if anyone was a little confused about the cmax pads as there were a couple minor differences between them and the OEM Brembos that came out. I noticed both sides of the OEM pads were tapered at the ends while the cmax's only had one side of each pad tapered. Also, the OEM bremobo pads only had wear sensors on the outter pads where as all four of the cmax's had wear sensors. The inner cmax pads had clearance issues with the wear sensors so I had to snip it off then they went in smoothly.
So has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks,
James

Not with the TL, but with my last car. I purchased some run-of-the-mill pads to get by as replacements, and fitment was a royal bitch. You should be fine. Lesson learned (for me): don't cut corners on pads.

i use them ... i removed 1 wear sensor so it was similar to the brembos ... other than that fitment was perfect ... have been using them for 15k now and they hold very well

I have something similar to those on my 1G that I got from Autozone. I replaced my caliper this weekend and I checked the pads to see if there was uneven wear and there wasn't The pads look the same as they did when they were installed.

They last a really long time.

Fitment was not a bitch they were the exact same as the Brembo's infact had it not been for the extra wear sensors on the Cmax golds you wouldnt be able to tell a difference. I wanted ceramic pads and so far I am happy I did they feel great!! I did the proper break in procedure last night as well which I hear is VERY important. Eight 60-10mph HARD stops then cruise at highway speed for a while. The brakes feel great so far!!

the "brake sensor" on the cmax gets in the way at times and its hard to wedge the pad into place....i took mine off and its fine.... make sure the tapered edges match the side u put it on.... in other words make all the tapered edges face up...or make em face down....but make sure they match up....i made that mistake in the beginning and they squealed.

Yeah thats the other thing that I was a bit confused about at first is that the cmax golds only have one side of the pad tapered. I made it so the tapered sides all match and removed the sensors on the two inner pads. After that they fell right into place and install was simple.
