Wheelspin with 5AT???

Wheelspin with 5AT???
Last night I went out to the street behind my house and did about seven 0-60 runs, having a friend time them the best we could. Most of them were around 7 seconds but I wasn't doing anything but punching the accelerator to the floor and going. All this was done with the VSA OFF. That brings me to my question:
How much wheelspin are you guys getting with the TL?????
I was stomping the accelerator from a dead stop with no VSA and the tires were cutting loose only very slightly. The rpm's were popping up to about 3200 and then the car would launch from there. This car definitely won't smoke the tires. Keep in mind this was on clean, dry, pretty grippy pavement. I have been able to get more spin when leaving a stoplight and getting on the smooth, white-painted, crosswalk stripes, but my question really relates to clean, dry pavement.

So I wonder if my car is a dog??? Friday car, maybe...
I mean I get a little spin, but not excessive. It's not like its smoking the tires or sitting momentarilly before taking off.

My car doesn't light 'em through 3rd or anything, but if I flash the throttle it will light the tires more than just a few chirps. With the VSA on with dry payment I get a slight chirp. In the wet, even with VSA it will light 'em through 2nd, w/o VSA it will go through 3rd gear or until I let out. My OEM tires don't hook for crap.

You mean "kicking both pedals together and do not release the brake until 2500 RPM"...? Thanks.

I feel better about it the last couple of posts because my car does spin the tires, just not excessively and I'm coming in right around 7 seconds or a little under for 0-60 times. It seems they spin while the rpm guage hits 3000 pretty quickly and then the car takes off.
Has anyone noticed if the tires chirp when shifting into second on the 5AT????
Mine don't, and I kind of doubt they would because the high speed you can get to in first.
Does anyone know if the parking brake engages the rear tires only. I would feel comfortable holding the car with the parking brake while reving and then releasing to launch, but I would guess this would require some practice and skill to get it right.

No wonder so many 2003 TL trannys let go. Guys were probably driving them like this. BTW - I have a 5AT with the HPT tires and have NO wheelspin on dry pavement. I think I get a better zero to sixty as well but haven't tracked it yet.

This is one of the factors which helps a manual tranny get off the line quicker than an auto with a standard stall converter. A manual can get the rpm's up into the peak torque range from a dead stop, and burn the clutch.

I have no wheel spin on dry pavement with VSA off and I see that as a good thing. I don't understand the fasination with many of you have with the 60 times of this car. If you wanted a true sports car, you should have bought one. This is a sedan, a very nice, very fast sedan, but it is still a sedan. I wonder if some of you even noticed the back seat during your test drives?
