Wheels stolen off my 05 TL

I get a phone call this morning at 5:50 am (6-11-2009) by my neighbor saying my rims were stolen. I am so pissed right now I am shaking. I guess here is my welcome present for moving into Worcester MA... What do I do now.

check out the nifty tire jackstand

damaged side skirt and rocker pannel

What do I do now I am wondering if they are going to total the car due to the rocker panel damage and if the floor and exhaust is damaged all bets are off.

Yea, call the cops and file a report and get your insurance involved. I doubt this is going to be total since the damage are replaceable. Sorry to see this, bro! Did the fvckers stole stock or aftermarket rims? If they stole stocks, they must be really desperate. Nonetheless, I hope those bastards get what they deserve.

I filed a police report and the Worcester Police came here and took notes and filed a report but.... stock wheels and not even nice A-Spec ones

What about the rocker damage and if the floors and exhaust are damaged because the dip s**t didnt know how to work a jack and wedged a tire under the center of the car I would think that would total it due to structure damage.

It was kinda rhetorical. The real reason is that they're low-lifes who can't earn a living.

As for potential underbody damage, I think that's going to be minimal. The tire gives more than the steel. You may need a new piece of exhaust welded in, but that's trivial.

That'll be out the shop in no time.

Sometimes opportunity comes in strange forms. The stock wheels, at full price, which is what insurance will give you...are worth more than A:Aftermarket wheels B:Aspec or some other very cool wheel.

Look for these on local RSX's and TSX's, or even someone that HAD aftermarket wheels and got rid of their stocks and needed to put their car back to stock. Karma escapes no one. So don't sweat it. They'll probably have a blowout on the highway and slide their car sideways into an embankment...not that I'm wishing that on them...but I'm just saying. Ha ha.

Anyway, check out the wheels at HandAaccessories.com and collegehillshonda.com. Remember us guys with 6MT have a limited choice on wheels because of the brembos. I believe I also heard from someone else on here that sometimes a local dealership will "rent" or lend you some rims just until insurance handles bidness.

Good luck and smile. Your life is a LOT better than people that have to resort to stealing.

I once caught some kids stealing rims from a Nissan Murano in front of my home ( not my car )at around 2am. So I took my pistol and went outside and detained them until the cops arrived.

The irony of this. One of the kids involved in this theft was killed last week in a car accident running from police after attempting to steal a vehicle or the rims off of them.

Karma at its best.

True. You will be pissed at first (who wouldn't be) and want to choke someone's lights out but once you calm down and everything gets fixed, you will see the bright side of it. What kind of wheel did they leave under the car? Maybe the police could use that as a key to their identity?

cops wont even bother investigating it. Unless everyone in that town that owns a TL gets their wheels stolen
They see it along the line that insurance will deal with it.

for now.

I know which is complete BS... Because if I went and stole $2k from a bank they would investigate that but they wont investigate $2k in stolen goods and damaged goods from my car.

If anything this thread should be pushing you to get aftermarket ones since your stocks aren't safe either!

I know people say wheel locks don't do anything, and that could be partially true, but my Aspecs have deep lug holes and I have the thing tuner type that requires a key for all of them. They sit really deep in the rim and from the top you can't even tell they're locks. I don't think there is a tool that can even fit into the hole to get to the locks so I feel pretty safe.

I have wheel locks too and if I get a new set of rims I would probably get another set of different wheel locks. It's a deterrent at least.

Man, this is ridiculous. Sorry for your loss, man. But like the others have said, at least this is an opportunity for you to get some nice aftermarket rims. Be sure and post pics when you do.

That is crazy, I was born in Worcester, grew up in Paxton, MA before moving to Texas 15 years ago. Apparently things aren't that great in Worcester huh. I'd try and get the insurance to give you money for the rims and I'd go buy some aftermarket rims with locks.

Be careful when you "Pak ya ca". Sorry, I spoke like that too living "nea Bastan"...

That is just ridiculous. I could only imagine how angry you must feel. Now I know why some owners come out shooting first and asking questions later when they see scumbags trying to steal property.

yea the wheel locks are a must, looks like a nice residential area, so this means those who stole it aren't from around there

did the cops fingerprint that wheel/tire wedge under your car, did they fingerprint anything?

if not they should be, grand larceny is a felony... I'd def press this a bit further... most people who steal shit off cars don't want to get their hands dirty, but they would slip up and touch your car before they put the gloves on... I can bet there's a print on that tire...

Holy shi@t, that is just down the street from me

Being that you are from Worcester I dont think much would come out of the police report. My brother's 97 honda accord got stolen and stripped from Nashua a couple of years ago, police just filed the report and nothing came out of it.

A claim through insurance is going to stay on your record and they will only pay you for the wheels/tires and the damages after deducting the deductible, so you have to decide if you want to go through them or take care of the issue yourself.

at least they didn't drag your car 2 blocks down the road into a field and stole your wheels..

my sister woke up... didn't see the car... and then freaked out... called the cops and they already found it in a field near by... just missing the wheels... and the spare change in her integra...

i suspect the rednecks that live in the foresty part north my the main road (south is all residential new subdivisions) run a chopshop.. i see a tow truck and lots of cars on their lot when i drive by. btw these are GSR blades too

we got some cash to buy a TSX cause the teg was a write off.. it was time for an upgrade anyways

BTW, thieves usually steal stock wheels and not aftermarket kind as they are easily spotted, look for yours to pop up on craigslist shortly.

Sorry to hear this. Maybe you and the guy in the blue honda could park closer together so only the one side, drivers side of course, of the car is accessible?
