Wheels Stolen!
just needed a place to rant!
So I woke up this morning feeling like crap, called out of work and went back to bed. Woke up about 1130 feeling a little better, so I decide, hey I have the rest of the day off, time to catch up on some errands. I walk down the street to find my TL jacked up, and both passenger side wheels gone... Terrific
What's funny is I just broke up with my girl a month ago... Last girl I broke up with, one month later my Accord was stolen while up at school, and now this... For my car's sake I'm staying single for a while!

no wheel locks, didn't think anyone would go after stock rims, guess I was wrong
Guess who's buying wheel locks tomorrow?
The only good thing is that both rims had curb rash...

Another reason to negotiate wheel locks into your purchase, or to buy them afterward.
There are other Honda models with the same lug pattern as the TL. Look for an Accord V6 in your area with stock TL rims....

I've posted about this before, but my former college roommate used to steal rims. (Karma has already caught up with him though as his truck has now been broken into twice.) Wheel locks were a slight deterrent but if he wanted the wheels bad enough or he knew they were expensive enough to make a lot of money, he would make a wheel lock key. The night before the heist, he went up to the wheel with some clay and pressed it into the wheel lock. Later that night, with a perfect cast of the lock, he would weld up a key that would fit perfectly into the lock. Usually only took him half an hour at most. Bottom line is that wheel locks will stop the casual thief but if someone wants your wheels bad enough, it's not that hard to bypass the key.

Once again , a great reason to keep your car insured aganst theft. Be glad it was the crappy rims and another member has already stepped up to offer you a set

Hint...next time...dont tell the "my car got stolen right after I broke up with my ex" story to the new one....or in this case...dont say...my rims got stolen right after I broke up with my ex" story..... She is likely to know you and know your flaws and work within that envelope as you have proven that this is something that overly gets to you. She becomes new ex...and owner of your old rims at the same time just in spite.

Thats why you buy 4 different sets and use them all(one from each set on every wheel)
