What're you looking to replace the TL with?

And it's not just door handles falling off or trim panels not lining up, they are serious repairs that require a lot of time in the shop. I've heard it over and over from news articles, owners and it's even reiterated in this guy's post:
Either way, if you can afford a 100,00 dollar vehicle, chances are it isn't your only one. And also you will most likely trade it after the warranty is up. I keep my cars/trucks until they have absolutely had it. The real life chances of me ever owning one is low. Now guitars, drums ect, I have no problem dropping some coin on.

I'll have my car 6 years next week, and it's been 95K miles without a problem. How can I not buy another Acura? This is the best car I've ever had, and I think one of the nicest looking cars out there. I still turn around to admire it when I park.

I'm hoping to keep my TL another 50K or more, about 2 years. Maybe by then the 5G TL will be something I'd been seen driving. If not, I might go with a TSX, they don't seem to have uglied that as much as the TL.

Does anyone have an idea about insurance for a car like the Z or Mustang GT? Just curious if anyone has bothered to check into it...could be a deal breaker.

When I was 18, I bought a used '85 Mustang GT. The cheapest insurance I could find (in 1992 dollars, mind you!) was $3300/year for liability only.

kinda cool to see what all of you guys would trade your TL's in for... I just recently parted out my car to help on a down payment for a new/used car so I understand what some of you are going through... The TL is awesome and when i had everything done to it it was for sure a head turner but its getting old and 1/4 cars i see on the road is a TL in new york. I have been doing a lot of research because i am now ready to buy something i am just waiting for a good deal to come my way instead of rushing the process... Through my research I have found that the M3/M5 are awesome cars but once you get one out of warranty i would worry to much driving it everyday so i would have to get an aftermarket warranty... for example a guy i know has an 06 M5 and the SMG went in it and he had to get it replaced and his car was just out of warranty and it cost him $23,300!!!!! thats not a typo... The S5 and rs4 are very appealing but not as fast on the top end as some of the cars im currently looking at and c63 amg is just a beast that car is amazing but then again i worry about out of warranty costs... I have narrowed my choices down to 2 recently and it is the lexus Is-f which are great cars even though some people really dont like them but there are really not that many made in the US or the new range rover sport supercharged... both awesome cars and yea i know one is a truck and one is a car but like i said ive driven both and WOW ones obviously faster then the other but to have nice truck that you can still have fun with and looks awesome is still nice too... I guess i will have to keep you all updated on what i end up picking up in the coming weeks

94 Civic (used)
96 Sentra (new)
99 TL (used 2nd Gen that i purchased in 2001)
06 TL (New 3rd Gen)

Hopefully my 3g will last me another 2-3 years.

I pay 1400(full) a year now with the TL so I could imagine the muscle cars being quite a bit more.

My next car will be an Audi RS 5.

And then I'll wake up drunk in the back seat of my TL-S.

2 reason i think... i know the first one for sure is because theres no a high demand for them and they learned this from the rs4 which were like 80k msrp or something retarded like that and no one wanted to spend the money when they can buy other better cars an i also heard somethin on audzine about emissions idk about that though.... the rs5 and rs6 are both sick cars it really is a shame we wont see them in the US

Was looking through craigslist and found this

http://charleston.craigslist.org/cto/1625194292.html

Would be a nice platform to make really really fast. I would totally buy this and give the fiance the TL.

Yeah, when it debuted Audi said it wasn't coming to the States. Same reasons a lot of hi-po cars don't come here: not enough demand and emissions.

I cruise CL for those for fun every now and then. You could definitely have some fun with one of those. That looks to be in great shape, too, which compared to most of the ones around here, is rare.

Not anytime soon, but probably G37S, CPO CTS-V, MMC 6MT 4G (if the grille gets some type of updating), S4/5. A big maybe would be a CPO E63.

I'd like to keep my car for at least 3-4 more years as long as the new car itch doesn't get me too bad.

Are there any cars left with normal 'tough' power steering like the TL-S?

I drove the 2010 RDX all day, I felt that if I've sneezed the car would turn. This electric steering sucks

My '05 TL has just under 80k miles and I have no intention of getting rid of it any time soon. I was, however, thinking about getting a second car and was looking at the 2010 VW GTI...what a nice car! I know the reliability is questionable but it's something I was willing to accept since I willl still have the TL. It's a mod friendly car too.

If I had to replace the TL though, the S4 and G37S would be my top two choices.

I love this car as it's really beautiful to look at and drives great. The one thing I hate is the lack of options in the aftermarket. Very few options if you want to customize or increase performance compared to other brands. I'm purchasing a Pre-owned BMW M3 or Audi RS4 when this car moves onto it's next owner. There are a ton of parts from hundreds of companies on the other luxury brands which is the selling point for me a this point.

I was looking at the Infinity FX45 but decided on the TL. I always liked the looks of the FX so when the time comes to replace the TL I'm sure that will be near the top of my list. That or if I come into some $$ I'd snap up a used GTR.

FX45 was my previous car, I'm thinking of going back to it, FX50 that is...I miss the spacious interior and laughing at snow and rain.

Awe man the FX50 is nice, bigger engine, more power and better fuel economy. It even has that scratch repairing paint from what I read. I wouldn't be able to afford a new one but you never know

The future is unpredictable; however, in an ideal world, my next car would be a Cadillac.

I want something that's different. A CTS coupe would be nice.

I like the FX as well, but much prefer the 1st gen styling. I really do not like Infiniti's new "bulbous" designs.

If you like vintage then why not a pristine condition 3000gt vr4 or a fully restored 93-95 300ZX TT or Supra even?

I bought my TL new back in October '03. It now has over 135,000 miles on it. I don't plan on getting rid of it anytime soon since it's still running fine, but I've been thinking about what to get next incase it dies an unexpected death or starts giving me a ton of problems. My favorites are the BMW 3-series and the Audi A5, but their history of poor reliability scares the hell out of me. I'm waiting for the next-gen G, too. The 4G TL is something I still haven't fallen in love with. Nice interior, but the exterior is confusing.

I've heard some people say the A5's have actually been reliable, but when I hear people say their car's been reliable for 30,000 miles, I think "so?" I want 100,000 mile reliability at minimum. Maybe I need to find an Audi forum and check out what people are saying. But until then - I love my '04 TL and don't plan on getting rid of her anytime soon.
