I think it looks like a bulbous turd. Fuel economy is reported at 20 mpg highway and 14 in town. It weighs a whopping 4556lbs too. It probably has more comfortable seats though.

I keep my cars for a LONG time. The car I had before my Type S was a Chrysler Sebring convertible (red w/a tan top)--beautiful car!

If I had to get a different car other than my Type S, it would be tough because I'd judge it against everything ACURA packs into these cars (all the bells & whistles).

If I can't have my Lambo, how about this?

By the way, this is the new concept car from Chevrolet-it's the new Corvette Stingray.

I have always planned on getting a stick version of a proper RWD vehicle with either a straight six or a V8 engine and as it seems, if my budget stays intact in the next 3-4 years, I plan to get the new M3 sedans.

I drove the E46 M3 and the E92 M3, I still prefer the good old E46 mainly because of its throttle response and the fact that it's a lighter car overall. Nonetheless, by that time the E46 wouldn't be a wise car to buy, so it would be this...I am quite happy with the TL for now though.

With as much as I've done to my car I plan on keeping it quite a while. Though I'll probably pick up another car in the next couple of years. I'm considering a '07+ 911 turbo.

My next car will be a G8. One of the sexiest cars on the road. Although Ill have to buy it used since they are no longer in production...

I was planning on getting a 4G until I saw them. My plan then changed to keep this one until it dies. Probably have another 10 years. In 2018 I will probably start think about something to replace this with. Right now I am looking at replacing my other car in a year or two.

I might get a SUV like MDX or something depending on how stuff goes family wise. My SC300 satisfies my need for speed for now even though I keep buying and upgrading and will be close to the 700hp mark soon. If I don't get a SUV I will probably get a RL or 3rd gen GS300AWD.

Blacked out M5

M5...nuff said.

Preferably the '09 or '10 version. I've always wanted this car. I'll keep the TL as my daily, since it will be paid for, and use the M5 as my weekender.

The TSX is paid for and modded, so maybe an 09 MDX would be it's companion.

I recently drove the TSX V6. Not as nice as a G37 IMHO, but a very nice car for someone who wants to stay with Acura. The V6 makes a huge difference in the TSX. I wish the TL felt as peppy and nimble.

I'll Hate To See My Ol' Gal Go!

I bought my 05 in October of 2004, and she's been a great car. I have 127k on her, and we'll probably part ways next year some time. She's been the best car I've ever had when you combine looks with performance. She'll be tough to replace.
I'm thinking the G37S or the next generation Lexus GS 350 RWD. Both have been selling at a pretty good discount so I think they're in the ballpark.

I just can't help but say the new generation TL is fugly. The interior is awesome, but man! On the outside.....it stinks!

I love the German cars. I know they're great drivers, and I think they friggin' beautiful, but all I've ever heard from my buds that own them is they're nothing but trouble. Expensive trouble at that. I really like the Audis, and I think the VW CC has a lot of potential. The BMW 335d has shitloads of torgue, but the door handles fall off, and the MB's have the same kind of problems. If I was a rich man and didn't have to watch my pennies, then I'd go for one, but overall, the Japanese cars are much more economical to maintain. I usually get at least 130k out of my cars, and I expect reliability.

I did drive a new Maxima (rental) in Philly last month. Beautiful car, inside and out, but the CVT really sucked. I rented a new Buick LaCrosse in Tulsa, and I was really impressed with GM's quality improvements, both inside and out. The Buick was a real pimpmobile though. Waayyy too much chrome, but beautifully done, nonetheless. It made me wonder about the Caddy CTS. I've seen the pics of the new CTS coup, and it's an ass kicker. I've just got a bad taste in my mouth from GM's treatment of me and my 1988 Formula 350 Firebird when it's gorgeous black paint (actually clearcoat) turned a pale milky white after 6 months. They claimed it was acid rain. I live in the rural midwest for Christ's sake.

I'm thinking the G37s is going to be the one. My wife really likes the coupe. I'm hoping I can fit into it. We'll see. She has an IS250 AWD that's a slick little car but a real tight fit for 6'4" me. Otherwise I would go for the IS350. I'll have to wait and see what the new GS looks like. Lexus better get off the conservative kick and start making some exciting cars though, or they're gonna be SOL.

i traded my 06 TL for a E90 335i last year August. Honestly, in the past 8 months of ownership, it doesn't really fail on me yet, as far as reliability, it isn't too bad. just like every regular car, you treat it good, it treats you good.
as for the power-wise, stock is fun enough and i only spend $300 on the piggyback tuning device, it's now standing at 330whp/350wtq, so around 390hp/415tq at the crank. mileage maintain ~29mpg on freeway.... i am not a racing guy at all, but with the same tune, a lot of e90 folks are running about 12.8 with 91 pump gas, can't imagine if mix in some 100 oct.

THREAD REVIVAL! lol. I was just thinking about this today...I'll either replace the TL in 2-3 years or just keep it till the end of college, 6-7 years.

In 2-3 years: In this order..
- 335i 6MT
- GS350 AWD
- 370Z 6MT
- G37 6MT
- Genesis Coupe 2.0T 6MT
- S2000

In 6-7 years:
- M5 or 5-series
- M3 or 3-series
- Lexus GS

I plan to keep mine once I pay it off. If I decide to downgrade, maybe get a good beater like a Civic, Fit or Fiesta. If I feel like getting back to my Evo roots, maybe get the Evo X GSR with the Twin-Clutch, as it is now no longer exclusive to the MR.

I haven't given it too much thought. My TL is paid off in February and I would like to get another 3 years out of it with no payments. I'll keep the TL until it falls apart but the next car might be a 3 series or CTS-V.

I'll be going IS350/G37 or getting a turbo diesel truck. They are fucking fast and there is plenty of room.

if i were in the market right now ... i would try to get a low mileage tl type s with a 6mt or i would get into the shawd 6mt although i think its ugly compared to the third gen. no other manufacturer really makes a car for me right now that is a decent price with a good list of options

Well... I'd like to get at least 7 years out of my '06. I hate to think about it because I'd really like to stay in the Honda/Acura family and I wouldn't buy any of the current offerings. So, I hope and pray that when I'm ready, either the 3G TSX or 5G TL will be better looking that the 2G TSX and 4G TL.

I just droppped my TL off at the dealer to fix all of the bodyshop screwups. I spent 45 minutes looking at new TLs and TSXs along with used 3Gs. I honestly would buy a low mileage 3G over a 4G after looking at them side by side. Gave the dealer my number and they're supposed to call me if any ultra low mile 3Gs come through with the TL-S as the preferred choice.

I plan to have my TL for a while too (been 5 yrs). Depending on where I am in my life 3-4 years my next CAR would be a BMW 5/M5. If I'm in a relationship or married its gonna be a MDX or Avalanche

I've had my car for little over 5 trouble free years. It's been paid off for the last year. I'll keep another 2-3 years. I want a coupe, BMW or Audi. If I get that, I may just keep the TL as the daily driver and reach for 200K miles.

I'm not going to be replacing my TL for a while, just got an 06 CPO. When I was looking to get out of my Accord, which I gave to my wife, I was looking at the Passat and Maxima. I really liked the Maxima. I was leaning towards the Maxima with the sport package. Awesome car. I just couldn't get past the CVT. I'm glad I got the TL for $1k, after trade in and money down.
