What would you people do?

Aren't these 2 completely different cars? TL is more luxurious and smoother ride, loaded with tech. While the GT500 is pure muscle, eye to the back of the head acceleration adrenaline.

Need more info....where do you live? Do you have kids etc. ? How's your driving record? I'd still probably lean toward keeping the TL. The Shelby's a mean car, but I'm still not a huge fan of domestics.

Im not a fan of domestic cars either, but the Shebly Mustang GT500 has speed and exterior looks. I must admit the interior is not all that great, but I think the speed and sound makes up for it.

The cabin tech and convenience features in the Mustangs are lacking compared to the TL- I don't talk on the phone in the car every day, but Bluetooth is useful when I must. The Homelink transmitter is a nice way to avoid carrying 3 remotes. Seat heaters on the TL are nice on cold mornings, and the dual remote settings are great if you have more than 1 driver for the car.
The GT500 probably drinks gas like a mofo, or a G8 GT, too.
FWIW, the Bullitt is more my type- I prefer the restrained styling and logo removal, but it would not work well as a daily driver for me.

40k for a Ford? I dont think so, I'd rather get a used z06. Everyone's got a mustang and most people cant even tell the difference between the v6's and v8's. Everyone knows what a corvette looks like.

yall are crazy, i would take a GT500 anyday over a TL. they look amazing, so do the TL's but still, the GT500 is just nasty as hell all around, sounds like sex pretty much, runs like a top, you cant mess with it unless you spend 30 more thousand and get a Z06 or something in that nature
get the gt500 dude
get the gt500 dude

Two entirely different cars. I personally feel that the TL is the best choice as a daily driver, great combination of luxury, sportiness, tech, practicality, RELIABILITY and ECONOMY.
I have a C5 Vette that is faster and will out handle the Mustang in stock form which is my preference for a sports car, but the 'Stang is a great car and I am certainly not trashing it.
I guess my point that if I had to choose only one car and drive it every day, I would stick with the TL for reasons mentioned above.
Make no mistake, despite what the paid lobbyists for big oil and the politicians they have bought are trying to sell us, gas WILL eventually get to $5 a gallon and keep climbing. The prices now are due to the economy, decreased demand and the upcoming election (just like 2 years ago).

Personally, the GT500 is a nice car. But not for the amount of money. I payed half of what one cost for a 04 Cobra. Dumped about 10g's in the motor and it will totally STOMP a GT500. Now the GT500 KR is a different story.

10gs? Heck, a pulley, exhaust, and intake and Cobra should spank it.

Slightly used Z06 would be a far better purchase for about the same $$ My friend is selling his with 50,000 miles for $22,000.
