What Is True Dealer Cost

Looking for a 2005 TL AUTO/NAVI. I know there is a dealer holdback but does this holdback apply to every vehicle? (thus making the cost to dealer BELOW invoice)??

Dealer cost is about $7,000 under MSRP.

There is no way that dealer cost is 7,000 below MSRP. I calculate $31,326 total dealer cost including the 3% dealer holdback. IS this correct?

Sounds about right to me.

There is NO way its $7000, only GM can get away with that and even then only on their trucks and SUV's.

The holdback on Acuras is, according to many reputable websites, 3% of base MSRP.

You should visit Edmunds.com -- this and many other related topics are discussed in detail! I started there when I was thinking about buying my '02 TL-S.

www.edmunds.com is a pretty good site when it comes to shopping for cars. I cant remember the site that I brough into the dealer showing the average price for the TL's in my area (northern california) but it helped a lot with the negotiation. As far as I know, the dealer doesnt mark up the car that much from invoice, but they do get a lot of perks from acura. Example, if they sell a certain amount of protection pakages they get x amount of dollars from acura because of those sales. I really am not very familiar with all the dealer perks and upcharges but from what I understand acura does help them out with regards to what they sell on top of just the vehicle.
