What tape will I need to cover the rotors when painting the calipers?

Why not take the calipers off? You're going to have a hard time really cleaning it, otherwise. 10 minutes of extra work is going to make the quality/ergonomics of this job infinitely easier.

Remove the wheel, Unbolt the caliper from it's bracket, and hang it in the wheel well with a bent coat hanger. Wash the caliper thoroughly with dish soap and let it dry. Cover EVERYTHING ELSE with news paper and blue masking tape (I usually remove the rotor). Now remove the pads, shims and springs from the caliper. Be sure to label what came from where cause it must go back how you had it. Now mask off everything on the caliper that is not bare cast alloy (all rubber boots, brake hose, cailper piston and seal). Now spray the caliper with a high-temp engine primer (if you can find it). Let that dry an hour or follow the instructions on the can. Next spray your color coat with a high temp engine or caliper paint. Let each coat dry before adding the next. Once your done, let the paint dry for several hours and reassemble everything.

All I do is clean the caliper with a wire brush, spray it with Brakekleen, mask the area and drape an old sheet etc over the fender.
I spray a layer then use a heat gun or a hair dryer to dry/set the paint then a second coat.
Remove tape and put wheel on.
Driveable in an hour or less.
All 4 wheels = less than 2 hours.

when you leave the calipers on and use spray clean- you remove most if not all the needed caliper grease, so it slides and pads move as needed on the end tab sliders
Smart money takes the caliper off to clean it and paint- hang with a few zip ties together or a coat hanger if wire ones still exist
Buy a pack of those foam brushes, paint dries in minutes on one left sitting between coats and its garbage,,
If you have not flushed the brake fluid- do that- then clean and paint so no spilled brake fluid eats your new paint
have extra time?- remove rotors and lube contact point of rotor to hub center, or it will take a sledgehammer to remove when you need brakes
2-3 coats of duplicolor has kept my 01 brakes looking great for 3 years so far
A minor touch up before a ziner event just for my AR tendancies~

I did the rotor hub centers and outer edge of rotors, plus the caliper mounting part so everything was black
Even did the suspension upright behind the brakes- blacked out looks sweet

while the wheels are off- wash both sides of rim and apply 2-3 coat synthetic car wax
that will keep most of the brake dust from grabbing on and sticking- thus attracting more and more dirt and brake particulate matter to itself

Im not saying the rubber protected main pins are in danger- If those move smoothly I dont take them apart- just torque the calipers correctly- too much binds them
look at the contact points of caliper piston and fingers to pads- that needs caliper grease, and the end of the pads have a tab that slides in and out as brakes used- the metal insert to the bracket ends where the pads fit in
All that must move freely so the brakes work properly
Lack of lubrication leads to noise, poor braking- wear pattern and more

you dont really need primer seperate from the paint
but if you want- look in the parts store paint locker for high temp `engine paint`- primer
In all my years of painting race motors and brakes- never did a can of primer come into play
hi temp paint may have some primer made into it? thats common in housepaints now
If you have a wire wheel and drill or wire brush, lightly roughen up the surfaces to be painted and spray with the included cleaner in duplicolor kit-
apply paint in 3 thin coats rather than 1 drippy mess
Looks great- no one gts 3 inches away from your wheels to inspect~
Some people only paint the front and sides - you cant see the back of the caliper!

I also used the Duplicolor Kit and didn't remove my calipers (and installed the heat-resistant decal): Thread Link

As others have said, use the Duplicolor caliper painting set. Before you do that however, take a Dremel and sand down all the rust, imperfections, and other stuff to the bare metal, clean (with a dry cloth), and then paint. The paint will last a LOT longer than just spray paint.

thats what we mean about the wire wheel on a drill, dremel with its smaller wire wheel works too
Anything that gets into the edges to remove crud
Then spray with the included cleaner (the big can)
note- I have done 5 cars worth of brakes on 1 duplicolor kit

you cant use plain spray paint- must use High Temp 500-600 degree rated paint, like BBQ or engine paint
