At what speeds to shift - 5AT

Hey everyone,
I was just wondering at what speeds you normally shift at while in SS. I'm just wondering as I want to know when it is safe to downshift into a lower gear whenever I need that extra power (i.e.: to get that yellow light, passing power,etc.). I would think that it is somewhere in the manual but I couldn't find anything.

It would help if any of you would just list the speeds for me. Thanks

2nd to 3rd:?
3rd to 4th:?
4th to 5th:?

Downshift all you want. If you're going too fast for that gear, the computer wouldn't let you do it, anyway.

It'll blink the number and prevent the downshift. So yeah, have at it.

For upshift, I usually do it at 3000-3500RPM

For downshift,
2->1 almost impossible, you have to smash on gas and several conditions must be met

3->2 between 30~80KM. Anything lower, you wont get any power with SS, you have to smash gas to go to 1st. Above 80, if you have foot on the gas, it won't downshift. My trick is completely let off gas for a moment then command downshift. It will bring you to almost 6000RPM just enough to get some help.

4->3 If you are above 80km/h and can't let off gas or if you are above 100km/h(it will not downshift no matter what from 3->2)

For regular street driving, I also use this trick.

Whenever you upshift, I command SS to upshift then take gas off after a blink. It shifts so smooth and grabs next gear almost imperceptibly.

You can do it fast enough that once you hit 3000RPM on 2nd, shift right to the 4th without any tranny shock.

If you let off gas then upshift, it actually takes longer to get it done.

On downshift, a little gas also makes it quicker.

stupid internet didn't let me edit previous post.

If you do the trick above perfectly, you will see RPM dipping from 3000 to under 1000 and hear "gas recirculation". It takes anywher between two to few seconds to grab the gear as long as you don't have foot on gas - which is kinda cool and saves gas and emissions

^^ I tried that trick today where u switch gears and then slightly let off the gas and it shifts really smooth. You can't even tell u just went into the next gear.

Thanks Actuary.
