If its not through the paint....take it to a body shop and they possibly might be able to buff it out? Or make it WAY less noticeable anyway....

Its not through the paint. Is this something that can be repaired when the car is detailed?

Possibly.....depends on the degree of the scratch. If it is minor and I mean really minor...it can often times be buffed and waxed out.

Does it permanently remove the scratch? And where did you purchase the product and how is it applied?

Any of you guys heard of Langka Paint Chip Products?

You can find it at Target, and yes it should remove the scratch. But it really depends on how deep the scratch is. If you can see metal underneath then no, you need repaint/surfacing.

No its not deep at all. Its only on the clear coat. Is the application simple?

I have scratch x. I used it on my old black accord. Luckily *knock on wood* i havent had to use it on the TL. That stuff works really good if you have surface scratches. Like they said, if its too deep, its not going to work. For those stubborn light scratches, it works good!

First clean the area of dirt, then take a microfiber cloth and put a pea sized dab on it. Take the cloth and start rubbing in a circle pattern where the scratch is.... You may have to do this a couple of times, but.... it did some wonders for some scratches i had and same for my friends black SRT.

Hope this helps!

scratchX is really good. For me it didn't completely remove some of my scratches, but it was enough so that you can't really see it unless you are right up on it. If you go to a body shop, don't let them feed you BS about how they have to paint the entire panel and blend. All of my scratches I took to the body shop no matter how minor they wanted to charge me $600 - $1000 to fix it. These were from Acura Body shops too. I finally found one in Stone Mountain that said he would just buff it out, because repainting any panel can really hurt the resale value. I never got a chance to go back to him though. I ended up working on it myself, and finally got it looking pretty good.

Ha. Whenever mine is in for service, I ask if they can take out scratches for me. They've taken a few out free of charge

How long have you been pulling that trick. I may try that on my first service.

I would try car polish, then scratch X, then apply wax. If that doesn't help... then try a car detail place or shop.

I do detailing ... if you can't catch your fingernail in it you can do it with ScratchX .. be patient it will take a while .. use a terry applicator for more bite and remove with a M/F towel.

A Porter Cable RO buffer and a cutting pad with Meguiars DACP #83 will take most clear coat scratches.

I do it daily ...
