Film % allowed means that you can go out and have film installed at whatever % is indicated. Got 15% film over here.

As for the original post, 6% is limo tint basically, you mean it's actually 94% and if you applied 35% to it you'd end up at .94 x .35 = 32.9% which probably wouldn't get you in trouble if the limit is 35%.
I'm still trying to find pictures of the small rear window tint issue I've seen discussed here, I'd like to print out some pictures to show my installer, he assured me on the phone they'd get it right, but I want to make sure!

Driving around with 5% and 35% on the windshield on a WHITE TL .. never messed with the cops except for once. Even when that cop pulled me over and realized I was an accountant and not some drug dealer riding around the suburbs ... he let me go and just said "Next time put the all windows down sir." Before that .. he asked "how many times have you been arrested and what kind (if any) weapons do you have in the car?!?" LOL. Needeless to say ... he came to the car with his hand on his gun.I'm going to just to 35% tint all the way around my 2006 TL ... including the windshield so the car looks like all the windows on the sides are the same shade. Like most of ya know .. the front 2 side windows always look lighter than the back 2 because the back 2 have the light next to them (from the rear window) tinted. Thus, if I do the front windshield, everything will look one shade and I def. won't get hassled with that. .... even if I do get caught again .. I'll get a MD inspector to sign it off and say "took it off" AGAIN. LOL

P.S. My valentine 1 still caught all the cops with all the tint jobs I've had!

1) You're lucky you've never gotten a ticket and when you do, you'll be lucky if the cop only gives you a fix-it ticket and doesn't make you rip it off on the spot or tow the car; and,
2) If you ever get in a serious accident, especially at night, there's a good chance it's going to be your fault, whether it really was or not, the other side's lawyer will make sure of that. Driving a car with a blatant safety violation is just not a smart thing to do in my opinion, especially in today's litigious society.
