What is this module?

Hey,

I was trying to install some HID fog lights and ran into this module thing underneath the dash. Can somebody tell me what this is? I noticed that there is also a wire from this module that connects to one of the door window switch wire. sorry for the bad picture it is just a cell phone camera I can get better pictures tomorrow. But as for this module it does have like a sensitivity knob but not sure what is it still? Thanks

I'm pretty sure that it is part of an aftermarket alarm system. Is it under the steering wheel right near your knee?

Did you buy the car new? If so did the dealer try and sell you and aftermarket alarm?

I bought my type-S from Ceritos Acura and that is what happened to me. I told them I didn't want the alarm but they left the sensor installed.

yeh thats what i thought, aftermarket alarm. I bought the car CPO and they did offer me to add a KARR alarm system. But that doesn't look like the brain. it just looks more like a motion sensor? its where my left knee is at. It is for sure aftermarket because the OEM harness were also taped in. If it happens to be an aftermarket alarm system. It doesn't work? or its missing the aftermarket brian or they hid it pretty well. You think i can take it to the dealer to remove it then? Or just connect it some how to make it work with my OEM remote, that'll be nice to have the oem remote with aftermarket shock sensor or something. Thanks guys.
edit: does anyone have the aftermarket alarm installed offered by the dealer when purchasing their car? does it happen to look like this?

it almost looks to be a shock sensor. i would take it to the dealer first to make sure if its an aftermarket alarm then take it off urself...

side note i had my aftermarket alarm installed by a conntractor that installs alarms for honda...

most alarm guys that works for acura/honda are contractors and they will do it on the side for you if you know them

Thanks for the input guys, i'll probably just take it to an alarm installer instead then since it does look like one.
