If you remove the PS pump belt you will eliminate the belt tensioner, A/C compressor, PS pump & alternator.
If the noise continues without the PS pump belt then something is amiss with the TB components.
If the noise is gone with the belt removed, then something is amiss with one or more of the components in the first sentence.

Had a similar problem about 2 weeks ago on my 2007 TL with 106,800 miles on the clock.

After a thorough inspection, had the drive belt tensioner replaced which seems to have done the trick.

Timing belt and PS pump are next on my list, although both were replaced (by previous owner) at 51,700 miles in July 2015. Then again, water pump, drive belts and tensioner were also replaced at that time, too.

Even though I had the plastic engine covers on I think some coolant may have got on the belt when I topped it off a couple of weeks ago. Took a wet rag and poured a little water on the belt and noise stopped. Hopefully that was it
