Good for FAQ forum in the future...

Hey, Jerky,

I may move this to OT. I know you're trying to get some insight about 3G TLers, but this is the repost. I'd talk to other 3G MODs tomorrow and decide if this is worth a stay.

From now on, we may start to run the restrict rules to move out all non-3G-related threads here.

I wish you would leave it here for a while. The results should be interesting. Besides, I think many will join the poll.

Moving time

Rets:

I agree. It's not 3G specific. Should go in Ramblings sometime Friday.

IMO anyway.

Ken1997TL

Im not sure if any of the choice worked for you, or if you selected "other"

if you work for the military, i put a "military" option, I also put a "government' option as well as a "enterpreuneur" option

Maybe those will help?

Please move it to wherever you feel is appropriate, However, it would be best to learn about 3Gers, However it's nearly impossible to prevent others from voting, so it doesn't really matter

WHY ARE THERE THESE 'TELL ME ABOUT YOU' MESSAGES??!?!

What does this have to do with the TL other than free market research??

Account exec, that could be considered "sales and marketing"

Just to learn about other people with similar interest, dont you think it's very intresting that we have common interests?

Again, Im not in the IRS and I dont work for Acura, but if Acura is watching they can build us better products in the future knowing what we want. What's the harm in knowing this information?

If you read the poll above, if you don't like it...dont respond to it!

No suprise that the biggest number is in IT. I guess it's encouraging that many people in IT can still afford a car as nice as the TL despite the downturn in the job market. The ones who marked students are lucky. I never had a car this nice when I was in school.

I think this car was made, geared, enginerred, for techies (like me) Freaking sweet to see so many techies on the board... Engineering, IT, etc.

Its also not a surprise to me that the community is so active online...

the bottom line is: stop goofing off and get back to those circuit boards and keep those networks running!!! This dam bulletin board could bring down the whole IT industry!

I'm a Voice/Data Technician, work on cabling, etc. for networks and phone systems. I guess this could be considered IT, but not really.

Telecom is usually in IT, as its Information, and its being driven by Technology

(phone conversation is information)

Often phone systems are run over the network (VOIP), or are part of a network group in an IT department.

Would you agree?

I looked but didnt see this poll before, and if it was, it wasn't done well.

I know there are some THREADS out there about this, but not a true Quantitative poll, with facts, that's why I did this one...

if it is a repeat, I am sorry!

Glad this is interesting for some...

Not just interesting, but an eye-opener. Really surprising that of 90+, no one is in education. Maybe that's why a lot of the spelling in this site sucks. lol

Yeah, I agree somewhat, with the choices that were given. When I think of IT I think of programmers and computer geeks. No offense to anybody. I'm neither, just strictly cabling.

That's not true, IT is a broad range of industry, take it from me, I have been in IT in a tech company, in silicon valley for some time.

Its NOT just programmers; everything a company needs to keep information flowing resides under the IT umbrella....desktop, email, telephone, cables, network, routers ,servers database, application, designers, even cell phones, blackberries count!

"Cabling" is part of Infrastructure Production, a very important part!

(these are just my opinions, are there any CIO's that can correct me?)

It's true the spelling in the forum may suck...but the web site and the web savvy users ROCK! (good job moderators/host/admins)

MOD EDIT: Thank you! We try harder. -XP

Software Engineer. But I don't consider myself a techie because I have other interests like cars and guns and cars and guns...

Besides, it's just a job when you think about it.

You need an Arts/Media category. The term new media is a silly meaningless phrase. (where's the line between old and new media?)
Ok, maybe i'll just give in and put IT.

The reason the most popular choice is IT may not necessarily be because most people that buy a TL are from an IT background... but rather because people from IT are more likely to be browsing this site!
