Should I move this thread to Dating and Relationships?

j/k

It probably should be moved to Ramblings since it does not deal specifically with 3rd Gen TL. But we're letting it ride for a while so the data collected in the poll will be mostly those owners.

Yes it's a fun job and a very relaxed atmosphere. I can wear shorts and sandals to work everyday if I wanted.

My job title there is Associate producer. I am going to be a character in a game that our company is putting out. The name of the game is called the Shield. It’s based on the TV show.

My character is a bad guy in the game. I am a Mexican gang banger. It’s pretty funny to see yourself in a game.

Let me get pic of my character and post it.

High School Teacher here.....in my 30th year "behind the desk"....and, amazingly enough, I still have my hair (even though it's pretty much all turned grey now. See what all those years of teaching 9th graders will get you?).

It's taken a long time and multiple degree stipends to be able to afford to drive a TL to school.....but this one makes it worth every minute/penny!

I'm a network architect, BS in Information Science, M.S. in Systems Engineering, ABD D.Sc in Systems Engineer (all-but-dissertation, in-progress).

Getting the M.S. will increase your pay 10-20%. Doctorate, add 10% on that... even if you did the same job, you'd make more b/c you know more.

Two companies have paid 100% of my M.S. and D.Sc. If you get a free ride, take it.

Anyone who says they're worthless are nuts! 1-2 year programs will yield a lifetime of higher income!

My question to you all is how many of you have pursued onto a master's degree in IS/IT? How many for MBAs? I guess I want to know is it a MUST? Is it certain with MS & MBA you are going to be financially well off.

I am being pressured to purse a MS and/or MBA, but I know myself, and I would not fit in that environment. I never really liked school, but I did like to learn a lot. I just can't see myself going on to MS or MBA. However, a lot of people even professional magazines (and other media) all seem to say get MS/MBA or be left in the dust.....

I understand that if you wanted a real high level position like CEO, CIO, even at Director level, a MS or MBA might work. However I am not looking to purse that kind of lifestyle. Don't get me wrong, but I would like to make 110K+, and still have a life, and have lots of time with my family instead of working all the time. Also, I am not looking for examples like Dell, Gates, the Google guys....those are one of a kind folk...I am looking for more info as it pertains to an average guy like myself.

What do you guys think?

Oh, Mods...I hope this is the right place to post this. I wasn't sure where to put this....

GEEZ what income, what profession, what other cars... Who gives a dam unless the people starting these dam threads work for acura and trying to get some demographics on people and their market.

The forum has drifted way off topic. I do not care if someone is trying to do a mod and needs some help, but what now we have personal questions.

great points Mickey!

Would it be more helpful to know that acura employees probally are reading these threads and are getting ideas to improve products?

also, you don't have to answer these questions!!!

Here is something for you to think about...we ran these polls last year, and learned a lot about each other...we all have a lot in common, the acura demographic on acurazine share a lot of the same ideas, thoughts, intrestes, and we all buy similar stuff!!

It's very interesting that we're all very similar, and have more to share than just cars!

Great points though!!!

True I do not have to answer them...

I would want to know more about how many products a person has owned and what mods have they done. Tire, brake, exhaust, intake... that sort of thing... That might give an idea of the knowledge a person has. And that helps out acura as well since they can see what people are doing to their cars and how to respond.

Education is a great way to get into a field and may get you a higher starting salary. In the IT field I have found some of the highest paid employees and consultants are not always the most educated. I myself charge $225 an hour to consult on Unified Call Center platforms and only have a BS in Economics. I did not find this a fulfilling career and choice to take an extreme pay decrease and went to work for a private University.
