When you picked up the 04TL, what did the dealer tell you for properly "breaking-in" the car?

 

I am not sure how to find them but there are lots of comments on this board about break-in. The dealer will most likely parrot the manual.

 

600 miles, no WOT, varying speeds, etc., per owner's manual recommendations....

 

What's WOT?

Wide Open Throttle?

 

yup.

 

My break in period recommendations= screw the 600 miles...this is why I lease a car!

What is the break-in period of my Acura?
Help assure your vehicle's future reliability and performance by paying extra attention to how you drive during the first 600 miles (1,000 kilometers). During this period:

Avoid full-throttle starts and rapid acceleration.
Avoid hard braking. New brakes need to be broken in by moderate use for the first 200 miles (300 km).

 

But some people recommended that you need to "bed" the brake, a serious of hard stop with a few minutes of cool time period in between. Otherwise the brake will squeal. So, what is the right way to break in the brakes ?
