What is the actual length of the TL?????

I know this is kinda stupid but I was comparing my TL w/my friend's 2004 Honda Accord Sedan side by side and it looked like the length is almost identical. I thought our TL is at least 2-3inches shorter than the Accord sitting at approx. 189 inches in length. I thought our TL is 186.2 inches in length but that does not seem to be correct. Another day I parked right beside a BMW 2004 5series and the length was very very close. I thought the BMW 5series was at least 4inches longer since the car looks pretty long and big compare to ours. Could Acura made a misprint somewhere????

The TL seems smaller than the 5 because the wheelbase is a lot smaller. The Tl has large front overhang. Funny but it's still shorter than the previous 2 gens.

Actually the 1st generation TL has a VERY short front overhang

I've been told numerous times it looks like its RWD.

It does have a very short front overhang and a long wheelbase. I didn't mean the 1st gen (best looking to me).

Thanks guys and it is in fact 189.2 inches long and not 186.2. The car looks so much shorter but when you compare it to the Accord/5series/Camary it is very close. In result, the TL is probably 1-3inches shorter than the 2nd GEn then!!

Thanks and 189.2 it is. But don't know why www.Acura.ca states 186 inches??? I guess someone is misprinting their pamphelets. However, the car still looks hot but I think the car would look even better if it was 3inches shorter. The car would look more compact. If they got rid of the nose that is sticking out a good 2-3 inches would do the trick.

Actually, the specs vary from different web site to the other, I brought this to the attention of an Exec VP at Acura (yes, he did see my letter) last December, yet they still have confilicting information on the overall lenght (both 186.2 and 189.3 is shown in differnet places.

From the 200

[image]http://www.acura.com/images/tl/tl_specs_index_schematic.jpg[/image]

As for the interior features it shows:

"In-trunk storage tray" so all you people who did not get it, should ask for it

As for the exterior features, it shows:

Machine-finished alloy wheels - so all you TL'rs who have painted wheels should return them.

There are numerous errors on the Acura web site, and in the literature provided, acura, almost a year later, they still have not corrected thier information, shame on Acura.

Here is the web site with the photo:

Oh, and if you check owners link it shows your VIN and what it should have, and that has even more errors!

Go get em!

Sorry to side track, but Acura does not know the true lenght, the more you check the more you find different numbers, and Acura was never willing to confirm the correct one!

Dam I did not get any Trunk tray or machine finished Alloy Wheels. How about you all??? However, would Acura really give you machine finished wheels and Trunk Tray. I thought the trunk tray is an accessories for $140bucks???

My comments were a little “tongue and cheek” as they say.

I think you would be hard pressed to get anything for incorrect statements in literature and web sites as they always have the legaliaze of “specifications may change at any time” or “information correct at time of printing”, etc, etc, etc.

But what surprises me is they still have not fixed the problems or stated the “true length” almost a year later???

Honda probably needed that 2-3 inches to establish an adequate crush zone for front-end impact protection. We wouldn't want all that engine and transaxle in our laps, would we?
