^this is like the 3rd time a thread like this has come up.
and every time, people always say "the door keeps closing on me!!!" or "fuckers keep slamming my door"

its a very cheap and effective mod!!

So the Accord has no detents and the door just stays wherever you leave it purely based on friction? I personally like the TL's door operation. As I'm getting in, I give the door a slight tug and right as I swing my feet in, the door closes for me. Never had a problem with them. Getting out has never been an issue either. Just open the door to it's first detent and it stays there until you close it. Maybe the people who throw the door open are the ones with the trouble. I never throw it open for fear of hitting something and I physically stop it at the detent.

I also meant to say that's a neat mod for those that have trouble with the door, a simple bolt in.

I always carry one passenger with me and they travel in the trunk either tied up or untied, depending on how much they cooperate or how much I like them.

If you look closely at the pic below, you can see there is still a single detente in the middle of the door stroke. The major difference is that the Accord checker lacks the steep pinched slopes of the TL, so the door can't shut on it's own.

Now that I'm used to it, I like the 3 steps of the TL door checker as well. Took a while to be able to operate it properly though. I also like that the first step is "just right" for those tight jams. This enables me to park really close to the wall in my garage so the wife & kids can't ding the doors getting into her Pilot.

But for the passenger's side door, I'm seriously considering the accord checker. I'll probably never do it though since I rarely carry anyone around except my wife.

having passengers (girls) put on lotion then rubbing that shit all over your black leather seats and door panels.

shit creates oil stains and i have to clean it up afterwards.

also, when getting into car, they kick my sideskirts.. WTFFFFFFFFF

Thank God no one has done it in my TL but seeing people with their feet up on the dash pisses off, my car or not. It's so...trashy, not to mention GROSS.

Took me a little white to get used to the doors, sometimes I'll forget my phone or iPod and go to reach in and the door hits me in the ass, like it wants me to drive.

TL says "Get in loser, we're going driving!"

I don't know how swapping door checkers work, but my Accord liked to slam its own doors on even the slightest of inclines.

Just saying.

when they are sitting in the car and open the door before its unlocked. i set my car to unlock when i shift to park, but some ppl are so anxious to get out they try to open it but its locked, then they get frustrated and pull the stick on the door ledge and get out.

i wish the TL was like some cars where if u pulled the door handle twice it would unlock the door.

My car unlocks when I shift to park, I hate it when people are so anxious to get out they pull the handle before it's in park, and just let go of the handle and it slams, cause the door didn't open.

When the ex-GF put her fucking shoes up on the dash/glove compartment.

When the ex-GF's stupid friend puts on the spray type sun tan lotion while in the back seat, wtf?

When the ex-GF draws cute shit in the dust on the hood.

When I drive everyone out to eat and they get in the car with icecream (sealed) and ask "mind if we eat in here?" "Yes, we'll be there in five minutes" I say, and the next day I see fucking chocolate smeared on the back of the fucking seat.

No one who gets into my car, and there are few outside of my wife, are allowed to do ANYTHING I don't want them to do. Otherwise, they can find another ride.

I have the same problem with a few folks at work. My solution is pretty simple. As I enter my work's parking lot, I simply push the unlock button to unlock all the doors.

I have a similar problem with my family, but it's opposite and involves entering the car. After shopping, I will often go first to the trunk and deposit what ever items we purchased there. Before or possibly when I push the unlock button for the doors, my Son is inevitably grabbing the door handle trying to open the door. Of coarse all 3 doors unlock except for his now. I then need to unlock his door again. Solved that one by unlocking the car before the trunk which is opposite of what I do when I'm alone (since the doors will relock typically)

I second #1, I have several friends who insist on riding without their seat belts. I'm like dude...its not going to stop beeping, just put it on.

#1 When someone opens the door on a windy day and they don't bother to hold the door, I have seen a few doors dent (aka crumple) because of this...not to mention hitting the car parked beside me.

Re: climate controls, if I have it set where I like it and the wife decides to up the temp on her side by 2 degrees, I calmly give her a smile and proceed to adjust my side down by 2 degrees (a.k.a. I win)

-- Touching it, its a car not a girl that you are trying to fondle.
-- Front passenger getting there head in the way of my sight when I am trying to see if the coast is clear to make a turn :duh:.

I'm guessing that you and your friends take turns being the DD on the nights you guys go out drinking. Let them yak most of the alcohol they've consumed before loading them into the car.

I sure hope for the sake of your car that you at least had rubber floor mats.

1. Taking off their seat belt before I stop.
2. Turning up the radio / AC controls.
3. Opening the windows when the AC is on.
4. Slamming the damn doors and trunk even after politely asking them not to.
5. Opening my clean windows to shout YOLO at other drivers (High school problems...)

That's why in my last car (94 325i) I created suede door inserts that covered up the pockets. Looked cleaner and no space to leave trash.

You need new friends. If they yell YOLO again you should say "Exactly" and push them out the door going 50mph.
