Went to the track today. It was 54 degrees out, fairly dry, and seemed to be excellent for racing. Sadly my 04 5at turned 14.9 @ 94 mph . I dont have the exact numbers, but this is what they were. Turned out that traction control off, and going through the waterbox to heat up the tires a little bit got the best time. Also found out that preloading the car only got worse times, and that just flat out punching it, I got the best times. I believe it was a 2.2 60'. This car has almost nothing off the line. On the other hand, my dad got a 11.6 @ 122 with his '06 z06, 3 times in a row .

No, mostly because he has an 05 5at.

....actually, that 14.9@94mph is one of the better times I have seen for the 3G 5AT. Next time, skip the water box; unless you are on slicks, it will do little for you.

Think of it this way, if I was there u couldve beat me! lol 99 TL.. No Stress, slap on some mods and u'll do good. And besides if someone really wants to race be like dad I need the Zo6 quick.

I know the waterbox is for slicks/drag radials, but the first 2 runs I went without the waterbox, I got a 15.2 @ 93.82, and a 15.1 @ 94.07 which happen to be my worst times. I actually got a few 14.9's going through the waterbox, and just spinning into 2nd (which I guess takes off the stones). It didnt really spin out of the hole. Here is the exact times that I got, almost 14.8 :

2.271 - 60'
6.347 - 330
9.649 - 1/8 @ 73.92
12.504 - 1000
14.904 - 1/4 @ 94.51

lol. I pulled the stock hose off the filter and it ran 15.2, I dont know how an aem is going to do any good... There were some fast cars running up there yesterday.

Way to go. While you do have room for improvement you have shown that these morons that run 15.4-15.6 in their stock 3g TL's really do not know what they are doing.

what track did u go to?....last time i did a 15.3 but i had my system, and chrome wheels on..i think i want to do another run on the track...with the system out and stock wheels on.. i might be goin to e-town oct. 14..so i've been thinkin about doin it again...5at

lol, thanks. Im probably going to scrape the rubber off my inner fenders today. It was fun in the waterbox, just pull up e-brake and punch it, then it shifts into 2nd, take off e-brake, then slow down. My tires were at 34 psi, I didnt feel the need to lower them because they werent spinning when warmed up a little bit. I wonder if I lower them to ~22 if it will make the car any faster (if in fact the tire gets smaller in diameter).

I went to island dragway up in hackettstown, its an old beat up track. Many people said you will run better times at other tracks... I also might be going to e-town either the 14 or 15th (which ever is the mitsubishi day).
