Went to the track

Had some issues w/ second gear, but overall happy about running consistently in the 13's on street tires my first time out with the car. Hope to drop ETs as weather gets cooler.

You did pretty damn well for your maiden runs. What was that black car that stuffed you, a 335?

Thanks, I was never there - Englishtown was my home track. Ran the Vette from 1969 through the mid 1990's with a number of different SB/BB engines. The '33 was run most years at the "old time drags" event. It had an LT-1 370bhp mechanical lifter short block with a dual 4 barrel manifold & a manual shift TH-400.

Have a picture of the 33 painted someplace but can't remember right now where it is. Was done in MB dark blue metallic.

Yep 335xi, my buddies car

I like Island over E-Town because of the amount of runs you get, I easily got 8-10 in a good 3.5 hrs.

Yes I saw that it was less crowded in the pic that’s why I had no idea what track it was. Thing was I lived about 10 minutes from E-Town so I could do Test N Tune during the week or run the brackets or gamblers on Sunday.

Good runs man. I knew it was a 104.x car. Hit me up next time you go. I'd love to get some head to heads in with you and bob.

Hatch was running mint too. He has to get back there with DRs...

Yeah I think I can improve on my launch, I didn't do much as far as messing with the setup, I left my launch limiter alone at 3900 RPM and just adjusted the percentage of throttle I was giving it off a launch. Also lowered my tire pressure a bit. I'd like to go back with a raised launch limiter, I think that might help me improve times a bit.

I also think Island is a faster track than Atco or E-Town but that's just my .02 in the 10+ years I've been racing and goin to the strip.

Big advantage when he red lights both of those runs too, lol....his best of the day was only 5 tenths better than mine and honestly, my car was more consistent even with the messed up 2nd gear, lol.

You're only a set of drag radials away from breaking the 13.50 barrier! I could see 13.40's easily. You're losing a tenth just on the 1/2 shift.

You think just a tenth? I think it could be costing me more, plus I need to raise the launch limiter to try to increase my mph and not bog at the line at all...I think I can do better. I went ahead and ordered an Omni Power CMC that is supposed to help eliminate that 1-2 error.

Hopefully when I go back in a month, I have this done and my times improve, stay tuned.
