yesterday on on my way home I got into a minor fender bender at least on my end of it. I was on the Bronx River Parkway northbound, I just got on over by Pelham Parkway. Anyway I was in the right lane looking to get over because of the cursed Allerton Ave exit when someone in a 06-07 black 4dr Accord stopped short in front of me. I managed to avoid hitting him and came within a foot or so between him and the wall. I looked in my mirror and saw another car coming and said to myself this is gonna hurt. Anyway the person driving the car behind me broke my taillight and rubbed up my bumper, swerved around and hit the car in front of me. The Accord who got the raw end of the accident just left the scene of the whole thing. I stood to help out this 19 yr old kid who hit me and the car in front of me. Anyway I gotta get a new taillight and I'm gonna get a new bumper rather then re-paint it. It works out to be the same anyway. I'll get pics up later I got then in my phone.

 

good to see that no one was hurt.

 

If you're going through insurance, they'd have to approve of you getting a whole new bumper instead of just getting the existing one repainted. If the person who is at fault is willing to give you cash for the damages, that's a different story.

In any case, it's good that you didn't get hurt, because that's the most important thing.

 

I blame the brembos... When I brake I always look back... hoping the idiot behind me can stop in time.... That's how I got in my last hit & run, I stopped on a dime, but the ass behind me in the accord used my rear to brake.... effen putz.

 

The accord just left.. wtf.. GTA? lol.. what about the kid's car.. what kind of damage with the other two parties? Glad you're okay and glad he didn't push you into the wall.

Well the kid that hit both cars was just really shaken up cause the airbag came out and it was his first accident. We don't know if the driver of the car that left the scene was hurt or not. Like I said they just left, thye didn't get out of the car or anything. So my guess to that is the person didn't have a license, warrants maybe, no insurance or had something in the car that shouldn't have been in it and didn't want the police to see or was impaired to some degree.

As for my bumper, as princelybug said, I am not going through the insurance. My record is clean and I felt bad for the kid and spoke with his mother and told her it's better for us to deal with my end of the accident. It would be cheaper in the long run and she's gonna give me the money for the parts and I will put them on myself. Plus I have a friend in Acura parts dept so I will get a cheaper price. I'm not out to rape the situation I just want my car fixed, mind you it just came off the showroom floor a month ago with zero miles on it.

 

Oh well guess you gotta get those lip pieces being that we're gonna be working on the bumper already!!!

 

yeah the accord just left. the damage to the kids' car was bad, it's a 92 Chrysler LeBaron 4dr so that car is done. the damage to the accord my guess is the trunk the bumper some frame damge, rear quarter damage on both sides. If i had to put a money estimate on it i would say easliy 5k and that's being nice.

 

hahah i blamed the brembos when i got into a wreck with my 3-series... its almost like its not worth it to stop real fast if you have idiots following to close
