Well the day finally came...

I will officially no longer own my Tl after this afternoon. Sold the A-Spec wheels off of it. Cleaned the interior and exterior of it, and got it ready for its new owner. Its been a great car, loved it to death, but i feel i need something a little more fun to drive, and sportier. I know i'll hear shit for this remark, but I feel old driving around in the TL, like its a grandpa car. Its got the get up and go to it that most people don't expect for it, its got the cool gadgets, the sweet looking interior, but it also has its downfalls. Like discussed here, although i haven experienced all of the issues discussed, i have a few. From the headliner issues, wheel vibrations, car not starting on the first try, bluetooth locking up, and memory seats. If acura were to address these issues, and fix them in the 2005 model, this would be the vehicle of the year for the price.. The car has been great, never had any serious problems with it, I've put 11567 miles on it in 98 days, several trips from Los angeles to Vegas, with 4 passengers, and we all enjoyed the ride comfortably. To all that have the current gen TL, enjoy it, its a great vehicle, and to those that are looking for/at a 2004 TL, jump right into one and dont look back, its a wonderful vehicle and you wont regret it.... You will regret not buying navi though if you dont.

With that said and done, ill be hanging out, checking thigs here and there, and will definately keep you guys posted on the AEM intake and the comptech exhaust I have coming in the next few weeks.

Oh, and the fun part... my little brother bought my car from me
Too bad i don't live with them though..

We'll all look forward to hearing about your next car purchase in six months when you get bored with the M3...after all, thats becoming a very common car here in So Cal. But hey, you went from driving a car that everyone's grandparents shoud be driving (according to you) to a car that everyone's girlfriend should be driving. Everyone knows the 3 series is the car of choice for rich high school girls!

I'm just giving you a little shitt, good luck with the new ride!

I resisted buying those A-Spec wheels/tires from you... almost did though. Congrats on the sale, the new car purchase, and keep us posted!

It looks extremely expensive! I'd say about $15,000.

But, when you're right- you're right. 0-60, IF she knows how to drive, she would maybe beat me to the next light by a car length or two. Unless she's got a passenger (she always will). Then, if I'm alone and have 200 pounds less weight (her girl friend is a tank), it's a different story. Weight is everything with these 6 cyl cars.

Don't think I'm knocking the M3. I love them. A real driver's car. I will be the first to admit that I compromized all-out performance for comfort, reliability, style, and features. AND bang-for-the-buck. That's also why I didn't get the Viper.

Cool Genetic oddities...

:diablotin Funny thing about guys...

We have this genetic thing that won't let us be truly satisfied unless we have the fastest car or the biggest ___________________ (fill in the blank).

Which means we are destined to never be truly satisfied <sigh> because there's always a faster one or a bigger one. :banghead:

What can you tell me about the comptech exhaust?

I emailed them back in November and they said they had one under development, but I haven't heard anything since and their website doesn't appear to have any mention of it.

If you don't mind me asking Jim... how old are you? Maybe you need to spend a few more years driving sports cars before you head back into the upscale sedans.

I've gottten the whole sports car thing out of my system and I'm more into "go fast with comfort" these days. I'm confident I'll be staying in this market segement for a while.

Its sweet and sounds aggressive, but yet not loud and obnoxious.

Can you tell me anything else, i.e. . . .

How can I get one? (I assume just contact comptech)

How much does the system cost?

Is it cat-back or silencer-back?

What is the tip design? (Any pics?)

Any idea of a claimed hp. boost?

Did you just fit the exhaust they offer for the 2nd Gen TL, or is this a specific, 3rd Gen. TL exhaust?

Thanks again

9 hp to the wheels is what they stated on the manual tranny... The tip design is a oval shaped tip to kinda fit in between the stock bumper cutouts like the stock tips.
Its a rear section exhaust only like the 2nd gen TL. This is a complete new exahsust, not a modded 2nd gen exhaust. My little bro had it put on the car, and i drove it once, and it sounds sweet. Ill see if he can get a picture of it today.

Thanks

I was told pricing will be 499.99 for both sides.
