Unhappy Weird high pitched noise

Hi everyone,
I have a 2005 NBP Acura TL that has 1000 miles on it. I love this car...it looks nice and handles like a dream. However, as of late, I have been noticing a weird high pitched noise. What happens is whenever I let go of the throttle and cruise below 20 mph, this faint, high pitched noise seems to come from the engine compartment. From 20 mph to 0, the noise is there. Once I press on the throttle, the noise goes away. When I hit another red light, the same cycle happens again. Please help....the sound is faint, but I'm beginning to worry that it will get worse over time. I'm beginning to think that maybe I just have super sensitive hearing.

Heres an idea. Take it in to the dealership. There are mechanics there trained by Acura to fix problems like this. They are employed by Acura so you don't have to worry.

Were your first two posts as witty as your third....?

If so, maybe you should depart. Otherwise heres an idea for you,,, look around and get use to folks asking questions about their TL "prior" to taking it to so called "Acura trained mechanics"......... Thats one of the key benefits of this forum.... IE, to gain knowledge from others who have "been there" so you can speak smartly when you get to the delaership....

MafreCola,
Perform a search on engine or transmission whines. This topic has come up before but I am not sure if anyone actually had a 100% fix. I have an 04 WDP myself. I sometimes notice a very slight whine at low speeds, both decelerating and accelerating. I "really" have to listen hard for it, thus it doesn't present a problem to me. If nothing else keep an "ear" on it and report it to your dealer on your first visit.

Keep us posted - good luck and enjoy the ride

Cheers

Me thinks the AC compressor might be what you are hearing. Check this by turning the AC On and off while driving next to a long wall so the sounds are reflected back to you.

Let us know what you find.
