Want to wrap my '07 base TL

Hey guys,

I know of a few people who have wrapped their car to change the color but the only problem is its their showcase car so I was wondering if anyone has wrapped their car and if so how does it hold up when on the highway when pebbles slide over it?

I appreciate all opinions on this since it is a really expensive job that I am considering!

Im curious too.

Also what if there are dings, scratches, will the wrap adhere properly or do dings have to be fixed?

Average cost?

You should "dip" it. I did my wheels on my TL and the bumpers on my 4runner. Its been 3 years and holds up great. Cheap too.

I would suspect that over time, depending on the climate, depending on the type used, it will deteriorate? I mean, can you even polish a wrap or wax it...?

I think you can treat vinyl wrap just like paint. You can wash/wax it, etc. Matte black looks sweet on lambos, ferraris and the like. Not so much on other non exotic sports cars IMO. Makes the TL look like a poverty sedan.

I completely agree. Flat black on a non-exotic car just looks wrong.

EDIT: I'm agreeing regarding flat black on a regular-car...

idunno, it's not paint.
so, i dont think you can treat it like paint, via polishing and waxing.

soap and water, yes. but I would think wax would not apply to a sticker.

the chemistry of paint is definitely different than the chemistry of a vinyl sticker

the great thing about stickers is; you can peel it off once it does get grimey or faded, albeit an expensive sticker

Iv seen a ton of folks actually recommend waxing it on various other forums. As long as its not a cleaner wax. Iv also heard of another product called opti coat that seems to be a popular sealer for vinyl wrap.

B, do it-I've always wanted to wrap my Type S in a Carbon Fiber wrap.
