Vouches For HI SPEED
I have been working with HI SPEED to buy his Comptech Supercharger. He has been nothing but helpful and a great guy to work with through the process. My concern is i am going to be sending a LARGE amount of money to buy this and i know on a lot of other forums vouches told stories about the people and how legit they are to work with.
I mean no disrespect to HI SPEED but i was wondering if anyone had any experiences with him before i wire transfer this large amount to him.
As i said i don’t mean to be and ass but i was screwed on eBay when i was in high school out of over 800.00 so i am a bit worried about sending my savings to someone!
Thanks!

I haven't dealt with him but he seems to be a very valuable person and on this forum for a while with positive feedback. I am sure he won't risk anything to be banned from here and he would have done this months ago instead of holding onto it just to be safe he really did want to sell it or not.
Maybe buy piece by piece or have a legal letter sent to him that he can sign? Again, this won't be necessary in my eyes.

Paypal aside, draft a bill of sale noting the conditionals of the transaction, with signatures from both parties.
Paypal really isn't going to cover you nearly as well as you may be led to believe; ultimately, if this comes down to small claims court a signed contract of sale will hold more water then a PP dispute.

I lost that 800.00 using Pay Pal, its useless. that and when you send a large amount even as a gift you can only withdraw 500 per month and i am not doing that to him. He has been emailing me a lot and has been very upfront about everything including pictures of the items and pictures packed. I just wanted to see if anyone had delt with him and or met him. I am sending the money by wire transfer and the bank said they can track it so there is some safety there! Any other feed back would be great but i think i am going through with it tomorrow! NEED BOOST!

I typed up a Bill of Sale and sent it to him, i think it is the safest way to track a purchas via internet. Hopefully i get it back ASAP and i will be a new owner of a CT Supercharger!

Pay via credit card through Paypal...if the deal goes south then you can claim payment back through your credit card company. This has saved me a few times when the Paypal policy has left me with nothing.

The check is not a bad idea but the turn around is a long time and sending a wire transfer is basicly the same thing without the mail time and the time waiting for it to clear. the fund will be sent right to his account and if i dont get the item i can always have my bank go after his to get my money back!
I dont think i have to worry much about it, he has been very helpful and most of the time if someone wants to rip you off they really push for a speedy sale and what not and thats not how this has gone!

Hi Speed is one of the most easy honest guys I have ever worked with over a forum! I bought his CT-E S/C and everything was as he stated! He signed a Bill Of Sale and provided me with all his personal info before I even sent him the money! Great guy! If your considering buying something from him... DO IT!

sddale: No I use to work for a shop and have built quite a few other cars so this install should be cake!
The user name was... what we should call premature! :-) I knew i would get one sooner then later but the TL is in storage so i wont me able to do the install till spring... stupid WI winters! Now i just have to see how long it takes the girlfriend to notice the extra noise from under the hood! Then bets on how long it takes for me to be found in the WI river!

I have had the S/C for a week and its killing me already, i look at it everyday! It helps that its highs of 5-10 and lows in the -10's so the last think i want to do is be outside! That and we just got snow so even if i put it on it would not leave my garage... i am guessing mid feb ill be out there with a heater!
